Job Description:

Churchill is looking for a junior Valuation Specialist that will report to our senior Valuation Specialist with the oversight of the valuations of all investments across the Senior Lending (SL) and Private Equity and Junior Capital (PEJC) businesses in accordance with our Valuation Policy. The Valuation Specialist will help manage the quarter-end and intra-quarter valuation processes, following controls to meet external and internal audit requirements, particularly on regulated accounts (BDCs). The Valuation Specialist will work closely with all areas of the business and third-party providers.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the quarterly valuation process through approval by the Churchill Valuation Committee and independent BDC Boards

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of internal debt and equity valuation models

• Liaise with third-party valuation firms, address due diligence questions, and coordinate internal review of their models; manage the control checklists and comment logs for quantitative inputs and qualitative outputs driving the valuations

• Serve as primary coverage on portion of portfolio, including challenging prices and digging into complex investments

• Assist with preparation and presentation of valuation packages, which highlight results, drivers, and themes

• Run intra-quarter valuation bring down procedures for monthly NAV strikes and/or ad hoc capital calls for applicable funds

• Evaluate market data as well as fundamental performance of portfolio companies

• Evaluate quotes/trades on liquid loans and liquidity sleeves

• Evaluate situations where SL and PEJC are investing in different levels of the capital structure in the same issuer

• Address investor, auditor, reporting, and parent company requests

• Interface with various stakeholders, including Underwriting, Finance, Risk Management, Operations, Investor Relations, Senior Management, Nuveen, Audit, Admins, Vendors, etc.

Job Requirements:

• 4 – 7 years of private valuation experience

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with an excellent academic record

• Experience with modeling and valuation techniques used to mark-to-market private debt and equity investments

• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced team environment

• Excellent oral and written communications skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

• Must be able to work outside normal business hours as required

• CFA designation or candidacy is a plus

Potential Salary: $135,000 - 165,000 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary on internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
