TIAA CW Product Owner / Scrum Master in Boston, Massachusetts
This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.
This role is located onsite at our TIAA office in Virtual, NC, USA but will currently be remote.
The anticipated term of this engagement will be 12 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.

Product Owner (PO) is responsible for defining stories and supporting scrum teams in the building of messaging and communication stories that meet our varying internal and external customer needs. The PO will collaborate with product managers (PM), customers, and a wide range of stakeholders to identify and define requirements, maintain the team’s backlog, and support the development of Program Vision, Roadmap, and the Features required to meet these needs. They will also support other Agile Release Trains (ARTs) value delivery through the Program Increments (PI).
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborates with PM and customers, and is the voice of the customer on the scrum team.
POs are responsible for creating stories, guiding the development team through the SDLC process.
Developing a clear model of how the stories provide value to customers
Facilitate requirements elaboration, story construction, backlog refinement, and prioritization.
Defines the sprint objectives in collaboration with the scrum team
Ensures that Stories are complete and accepted per the definition of done
Manages the priority of work and within the team’s backlog in relationship to the committed feature priority
Is accountable for Scrum and SAFe ceremonies on the team
Defines sprint plan within the program increment
Works with Architecture to develop technical solutions
Maintains change management expectations to the vision and product roadmap
Manages Story Demos and stakeholder approvals
Manages legal and compliance requirements
Collaborates with other program PMs and supports larger solutions and capabilities.
Constantly inspects and adapts, analyzing operations and processes looking for LEAN and continuous improvement opportunities
Applied knowledge of related business processes, products and applications, in addition to functional/ technical knowledge and testing knowledge in order to analyze and anticipate impacts to system change
+5 years of experience in software development
+2 years of experience in financial services industry
1 or more years’ experience working JIRA
+3 proven experience working as a Business Analyst or Product owner in scaled agile framework (SAFe) or other large scale agile frameworks
Has a multi-facetted operational skills and experience including: development, analysis, project/program management, SLDC, LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and quality management.
Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of Agile, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration
Demonstrated experience developing stories in alignment with the feature roadmap for agile frameworks
+2 years Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects.
Preferred Qualifications :
One or a combination of these SAFe Certification (SA, PO/PM, APM, SPC, LPM)
Experience in Adobe, Salesforce, Document Generation (Quadient), Messaging Applications
Experience in working with executives or vendors
Understanding and experiences with highly integrated enterprise level systems (both internal and web facing)
Understanding of marketing strategies, campaign creation, and campaign reporting
Skill and experience in working as an end to end subject matter expert or functional analyst for a particular platform (experience with all phases of development lifecycle)
Experience leading a scrum team and running scrum ceremonies.
