The Head of North East regional Office investments is the leader for management, oversight, and strategic development of both the North East regional Office portfolio and investment activities. The successful candidate should have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to drive business development and execution. Essential to the role is the ability to develop and maintain a network of local real estate partners (owners, operators, brokers) to create a robust supply pipeline.

The Head of the North East regional team will be a member of the Office leadership team, and will play a pivotal role in partnering with the US Head of Office to develop overall regional strategy and develop tactical plans that will help solve the most important regional challenges.

The ideal candidate has exceptional communication and presentation skills, growth-oriented with a drive to exceed goals, and comfortable owning decisions and influencing a broad array of stakeholders to drive business outcomes. Proven ability to lead a collaborative team environment, and excels under pressure of tight deadlines, uncertain information, and has the ability to manage time efficiently while being adaptable to changing priorities.

The role requires an ambitious, motivated self-starter, to lead the growth initiatives for the North East region, help establish a high performance team culture and workplace, publicly represents the company well, and embraces its mission and effectively communicates within the real estate industry.


  • Full responsibility for capitalmarkets (i.e. acquisitions, dispositions) and asset management;

  • Established strategic goals forthe region as well as portfolio objectives;

  • Manage the planning process ofproperty CAPEX, operating budgets, and business plans;

  • Manage, train and empower localteam;

  • Ability to understand complexexcel models;

  • Manage quarterly and annualperformance reporting of the portfolio to ensure objectives are being met;

  • Participate in marketing/fundraisingefforts, investor visits, quarterly investor meetings/webcasts, and annualinvestor meetings as needed in support of investor relations activities;

  • Oversees all investmentauthorizations and assures that all financial, market and risk analysis iscorrect and accurate and that the authorization presents a true and accuratestatement of the facts and analysis supporting the authorization;

  • Interpersonal leadership and influencingskills – ability to lead initiatives, interact with colleagues at all levels,prioritize issues and manage team capacity; and

  • Ensure there is an effectiveprocess for identifying, classifying, quantifying and mitigating risk



  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or related field

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate asset management as a fiduciary with experience in a senior leadership role with a leading real estate asset manager


  • Master's degree

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other functional teams, such as legal, accounting, middle, and back office personnel to authorize and record transactions and to follow procedures

  • Participates in industry forums and promotes the Nuveen Real Estate platform

  • Ability to translate between being strategically minded and tactically focused to ensure team effectively executes critical enterprise deliverables/objectives
