TIAA VP, Head of Strategic Initiatives, Client Marketing in Boston, Massachusetts
This Client Marketing role is responsible for ownership and development of go-to-market plans and the execution of strategic campaigns in partnership with Marketing and Distribution colleagues aimed at acquiring, developing and retaining clients. They are the primary interface with the sales organization and responsible for alignment of marketing strategy with sales goals. By utilizing traditional as well as dynamic methods, such as client segmentation, marketing automation, digital and social methods, they aim to create multi-faceted campaigns that generate high-quality leads for the sales organization. This job supervises a team of professional-level employees and sets goals and objectives for team members to ensure the achievement of department results.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Leads team responsible for strategy development and delivery of Go-To-Market plans for client segments and executes deliverables against plan.
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships and collaboration with sales organization and business partners.
Owns journey mapping for their respective audience segmentation – including catalogue, prioritization, planning and execution, including the strategic objectives & goals, priorities, stakeholders, target audience (segments), channels, products and processes, and creates the project plan for the journey.
Responsible for campaign planning, development and execution in partnership with Sales and functional marketing team members.
Develops appropriate departmental measurements and key performance indicators (KPIs) based on overall business goals.
Provides tactical and custom marketing support aligned with Client marketing support model in partnership with functional areas of marketing.

Direct the strategy for TIAA Client Marketing and has ownership of short-term to mid-term execution of strategy and the operational direction of the department
Drive improved outcomes through establishing a strategy for the newly created Institutional Marketing and Consumer & Participant Marketing areas.
Responsible for building integrated plans, providing visibility into KPIs and aligning the new Institutional Marketing and Consumer & Participant Marketing teams to our overall operating model
Responsible for the integration of area and segment strategy with the broader organization, harmonizing templates and communication mechanisms, developing internal and external reporting and/or communication of strategy, and organizing and coordinating team activities and special projects
This leader will be highly integrated with the respective Chief Marketing Officer and their leadership team
Conducts audience go-to-market planning and coordination (calendar; initiatives, KPIs, etc.)
Provides visibility to area leadership on campaigns and activity planning /pipeline
Directs team strategic prioritization and calendaring in close partnership with Marketing & Communication Strategy and Operations team.
Develops relevant competitive intelligence (e.g., peers, clients)
Responsible for resource allocation of key strategic items
Directs meeting planning in support of business projects and objectives.
Oversees the implementation of policies and procedures in support of the business area strategy.
Ensures process improvement completion in assigned business area.
Oversees complex projects by monitoring and tracking risks, issues and action items.
Influences the development of new strategic initiatives through tracking budgets and milestones.
Proposing and structuring annual spend in coordination with Marketing & Communication Strategy and Operations team.
Ensure budgeting is aligned to priorities and strategy
Eight plus years of business case analysis and development
Eight plus years of expertise is developing strategic slides and presentation
Eight plus years demonstrating ability to create frameworks and connect multiple data points to craft high level themes and executive presentations
Eight plus years leveraging primary and 3rd party research to assess white space against competition and provide opportunities
Eight plus years of analytical prowess, specifically in business and marketing analyses
Motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and is very comfortable with change
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail
Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
Experience working in a global, cross-functional team is a plus
Prior management consulting experience within financial services a plus
Potential Salary: $201,100.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
