TIAA Sr. IT Infrastructure Project Manager-2 in Broomfield, Colorado

The Global Infrastructure Services team is seeking an experienced leader for the role of Senior Infrastructure Project Manager reporting through the Strategy and Business Effectiveness office. This role will be focused on leading the full project lifecycle including scope definition, data analysis, budget estimates, project planning, driving execution and completing the close process. The candidate organizes, plans and controls resources and processes to achieve project/program objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints.

This role is infrastructure oriented but will be working closely with all areas of IT, facilities and Cyber Security. There will be multiple project types including infrastructure build out, workflow system re-platforms, database integrations, cloud technologies, end of life infrastructure decommissioning, and foundational maintenance projects. Strong communication skills, leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills are required. Candidate must have the ability to use both agile and waterfall methodologies. Under limited supervision, this job utilizes general knowledge of the project/business requirements to manage large scale projects for the Global Infrastructure Services organization.

A strong background in infrastructure is a must; experience with data analysis, Cybersecurity, networks, data center expansion, New office Builds, and data center migration projects a plus. Position requires a thorough understanding of the full infrastructure stack including End User, Network, Server, Storage, Cloud, Database, Middleware and File transfer technologies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

  • Must be able to understand tactical and strategic program direction in order to lead, prioritize and drive technology deployments and issue remediation to keep the program on track without sacrificing quality delivery.

  • Organizes project teams by assigning individual responsibilities, developing project schedules, and determining resource requirements necessary to ensure project is successful.

  • Drafts the estimates of costs, resources, and time required to complete each phase of a project and allocates resources and tasks to ensure these targets are met.

  • Implements an established project plan and monitors progress and performance against this plan leveraging Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.

  • Actively identifies any issues or risks associated with a project, escalating them and possibly implementing mitigation strategies for risk prevention and timely resolution.

  • Provides updates to management regarding the status of projects including cost, timing and staffing.

  • Conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.

  • Meets scheduled milestones to ensure completion of project objectives in a timely manner and has in-depth knowledge of the principals, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing infrastructure projects.

  • Ability to define and negotiate deliverables from initial requirements to final implementation across internal customers, vendors and technology areas.

  • Ability to identify, document and communicate business impacting outcomes delivered by the program.

  • Ability to analyze business unit technology needs, dissecting complex problems and suggesting solutions.

  • Works with outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of professional infrastructure project management experience managing teams using techniques from both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Experience with frameworks such as Agile, Scrum and Kanban for initiative execution.

  • 3+ years of IT Infrastructure experience.

  • Ability to serve as SME/Coach for team members with coaching one or more teams on Agile practices and developing own understanding of delivery and Agile delivery principles.

  • Experience running agile projects of varying size and complexity.

  • Strong leader, educator, communicator, and coach.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Financial domain

  • Certified Scrum Master, PMP or related certification

  • SAFe Certifications

  • SAFe Agile Release Train delivery experience

  • Experience with JIRA, Jira Align, Confluence

Educational Requirements

• University Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• 3 Years Required; 5 Years Preferred

Base Pay Range: $89,600/yr. - $149,400/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
