Alternatives/Infrastructure Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Specialist is a member of the Alternatives Marketing team, which develops and executes comprehensive marketing strategies supporting investment and capital raising efforts across real estate, real assets and private capital. Alternatives Marketing is wholly focused on marketing our most complex offering and enhancing the client experience of our more sophisticated buyers globally. Alternatives Marketing serves as the primary marketing interface to Nuveen’s real estate, real assets and private capital specialist investment teams, product managers, and alternatives specialist business development teams.

The Alternatives/Infrastructure Marketing Specialist will have a primary focus on Nuveen’s infrastructure capabilities, including Glennmont Partners, Nuveen’s renewable energy investment specialist. The is involved in and responsible for a broad range of regional and/or global marketing activities supporting infrastructure investment and capital raising activities (with potential for exposure across other alternative investment strategies), including but not limited to asset class content and collateral, digital/e-marketing, multimedia, events and communications. The role requires generalist marketing knowledge plus some previous exposure to private markets sectors.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops and leads product-specific marketing plans for a number of alternative strategies, with a primary focus on private infrastructure.

  • Partner with key stakeholders across product, portfolio management, asset class specialists as well as marketing colleagues to ensure competitive differentiation of products across collateral and campaigns, and continually leverage real-time learning to enhance materials to optimally support sales execution.

  • Drives creation and production of alternatives platform, capability, strategy and product marketing collateral including pitchbooks, brochures, acquisition flyers and other collateral as required, ensuring materials are aligned with the business’ strategy and objectives and are harmonized with initiatives/priorities across regions, where relevant.

  • Manages editorial calendar and production of asset class-level content (e.g. quarterly insights) including proof-reading, compliance and design processes, ensuring that topics align with sales priorities and sync to relevant fundraise milestones.

  • Supports digital marketing including liaising with web team on content/navigation, with social media team to create content/posts, and initiates the creation and dissemination of e-newsletters, thought leadership and product content distributed via our email marketing platform.

  • Drives and coordinates firm participation/sponsorship and/or other engagement in alternatives-specific industry events.

  • Liaises with Marketing Services to ensure accurate and timely maintenance of existing collateral, and distributes new collateral to Nuveen platforms such as DMAT and Seismic.

  • Represents alternatives marketing effectively in partnering with specialist business development teams and subject matter experts across investment and product teams. Effectively communicate and manage interactions while building marketing support, establishing strong partnerships, and positioning marketing as a critical partner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years of related financial services or asset management marketing experience

  • Five years working with institutional investor audience, sales, investment teams and knowledge of sales process and investment products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of alternative asset classes (e.g. commercial real estate, private capital, infrastructure, natural resources) is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of executing marketing initiatives with measured results

  • Ability to assess and interpret complex information and synthesize key messages visually and verbally into marketing documents and other written materials

  • Comfortable operating in/with a multi-location and multi-national extended team

  • Experience utilizing marketing technology tools such as email automation systems, workflow tools, social content platforms, etc.

  • Self-directed self-starter with the ability to build relationships and influence across a large matrixed organization

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, deadline-driven environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Potential Salary: $105,300.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
