Business Unit Control Mgmt Lead

The BU Risk and Control Management job ensures the reliability and effectiveness of internal financial controls across the company. Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for approving the testing of financial records, processes and systems as well as the auditing of the recording of transactions. This job also approves and presents reports of findings and recommendations for management.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Designs the evaluation and testing of financial records, processes, and systems.

  • Approves the auditing of recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws, agreements, and policies.

  • Approves and presents reports of findings and recommendations to management.

  • Leads cross-functional implementation of compliance programs including analysis of transaction-level risks in operational areas.

  • Evaluates reporting policies and procedures currently in place within the organization to identify gaps and weaknesses.

  • Oversees the compilation of various state and federal regulatory agency filings and coordinates quarterly and annual statement mailings.

  • Communicates new or revised policies, procedures, processes and related documents to appropriate team members and/or business units.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

The Default Solutions Team works closely with associates across TIAA to manage the integrated and sophisticated technology and operations platform that forms the backbone of RetirePlus.

The Analyst, Monitoring and Analytics will develop and execute monitoring and controls for all facets of RetirePlus. The Analyst will partner closely with client services, technology, risk and legal associates to implement reporting and forensic frameworks that will validate the accuracy and precision of calculations and transactions, as well as working closely with fellow Default Solutions Team members and other associates on root cause analysis, mitigation and validation.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of data analytics and monitoring experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of data analytics and monitoring experience

  • Demonstrated ability to connect data and analysis to drive actions to make decisions in a consultative manner

  • Direct experience with SQL analysis and reporting tools such as Tableau

  • Proven ability to deliver results in a growing and changing environment

Potential Salary: $126,500.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
