Nuveen Investments AVP, Business Intelligence Owner in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Sales Enablement group collaborates with sales, marketing, product, and service teams to build frameworks, processes, and metrics that solve key problems and drive business growth. By understanding clients across all distribution channels using CRM, business intelligence, and other tools, we evaluate and enhance Nuveen’s distribution efforts.

The Business Intelligence Product Owner acts as a bridge between business and technology teams to design, produce, and maintain reports for team/territory management, and business performance results that promote collaboration.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

What you can expect in the Business Intelligence Product Owner role at Nuveen:

  • You’ll be the face and voice of the Analytics platforms within the global sales organization. Understand business goals, team and individual KPIs, and other metrics to drive business insights and actions through data visualization and reports.

  • You’ll work with your team and business partners to build out a vision for how Business Intelligence and data can help us better:

  • Know our clients

  • Understand how they do business with us, and how they prefer to do business with us

  • Draw out insights and tidbits that will help us win more deals.

  • You’ll create a structure that will enable:

  • A clear development path from “Brain to Business” for all strategic reports and dashboards.

  • An ability for sales leaders to access 90% of day-to-day needs through self service reports and dashboards.

  • Flexibility to perform ad-hoc analyses and share results with key stakeholders quickly and effectively.

  • Opportunities to innovate and improve with direct input from salespeople and sales leaders.

Business/Data Understanding

  • Know the global Nuveen business model, how we operate, and what drives our operational and financial success.

  • Understand the asset management structure, sales model, and how internal and external data is utilized.

  • Organize data in best way possible for regular and ad hoc reporting outputs.

Collaboration and Discovery

  • Take an active innovation role in the company by bringing new ideas, techniques, and approaches within the business, even if they're common-sense pragmatic solutions.

  • Proactively identify tools and technology that could be utilized to drive efficiency and improve the user experience.

Communication and Execution

  • Effectively manage and lead a Business Intelligence Analyst and team of Offshore Analysts.

  • Lead the approach for communicating changes, improvements, and challenges to stakeholders, user groups, and senior leaders.

  • Synthesize complex, technical concepts and outputs into common language that resonate with technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Collaborate closely with the global technology teams to shape and execute on the continued development of the Business Intelligence platform and ecosystem.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5 years experience in reporting and analytics

Preferred:

  • 7 years experience in reporting and analytics

  • 3+ years in Asset Management.

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business Management, Computer Science, or Statistics.

  • Highly skilled with ad-hoc data analyses, complex data structures, and relational databases.

  • Snowflake, AWS, Data Lake experience a plus.

  • Tableau, CRM Analytics or Power BI experience highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated independence in critical thinking and problem solving with measurable outputs.

  • Excellent, professional written and verbal communication skills with ability to speak on complex topics in common language.

Base Pay Range: $131,413/yr - $160,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
