Role: Privates, Real Estate & Alternative Investments Applications: Lead Java Application Developer
The TH Real Estate Team is responsible for providing technology based solutions, services and support for the Global Real Estate Division’s Asset Management, Investment Services and Investment Accounting teams.
The Sr. Application Developer candidate will partner with his/her technology team peers in the execution of the following job responsibilities on behalf of all supported business teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Design and develop custom application functions, interfaces and reports in accordance with stated business requirement.
Create, maintain and execute detailed test cases and plans for all developed work product.
Work directly with application vendor to manage, optimize and administer a multi-database environment including overnight SQL jobs, application tasks and automated report schedules.
Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop technical solutions that meet the business needs.
Author and maintain detailed technical design and specification documentation.
Provide input to refine business and functional requirements.
Provide level three application support which is focused on the research, remediation and documentation of more complex application and technical support issues.
Collaborate with IT and business partners to design, develop and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions.

Develops integrated solution within a broad technical context
Has a foundational knowledge of TIAA and Nuveen’s businesses and organizational structure
Proactively generates relevant ideas for new and improved use of technology

Understands and applies the principles of project management and applies methodologies, tools and processes to manage own assignments or simple projects
Evaluates quality metrics and processes against enterprise standards and proposes remedial action
Decides on appropriate actions required to enhance security and address risk exposure
Evaluates, manages and ensures validation of exceptions
3 or more years of C#, .Net and Visual Studio
3 or more years of experience with Oracle V12 and Microsoft SQL Server.
3 or more years’ experience with Java utilizing Java Eclipse or MS Visual Studio IDE’s.
A minimum of 3 years of experience with commercial or residential real estate.
BS in Computer Science, Finance or Accounting.
Experience working with WebLogic Webservers, IBM MQ server or Mulesoft middleware products.
Experience in property management, accounting or business support.
Solid report development experience including Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Working knowledge of Linux
Working knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile / Scrum development methodologies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Must be detail oriented and extremely organized and have the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Knowledge of Real Estate Investment Management and / or fund accounting concepts, practices and procedures a plus.
