TIAA Learning Consultant in Charlotte, North Carolina

This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

This role will sit onsite, likely in a hybrid capacity, at the location(s) listed in this posting.

The anticipated term of this engagement will be 17 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.

CW-Learning Consultant

Designs, implements, monitors and supports staff development and career planning strategies, procedures and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Designing staff development and career planning programs, and ensuring senior managers and Training and Development (T&D) staff understand the purposes and methods of these programs.

  • Monitoring and analyzing T&D practices and processes to determine their efficiency and effectiveness; recommending areas of improvement to achieve and deliver higher quality services.

  • Maintaining effective internal communications between business unit managers and T&D staff to discuss the changes that will impact T&D design, development or program delivery.

  • Determining external clients' T&D needs and helping them achieve their objectives.

This role will assess, design, implement, and support ongoing learning and development programs. This job also serves as a consultant and resource to leaders in directing program development needs and provides learning programs through various methods. Working independently under general supervision, this job develops and delivers web-based and in-person professional development programs, and provides effective uses of technology in all modes of instruction.

This is a Hybrid role based either in the following office location Charlotte, NC or Denver, CO.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct skills gap analyses and assess learning needs

  • Working with subject matter experts (SMEs) and identifying target audience’s training needs

  • Collaborate with SMEs to create engaging training course content and learning activities that enhance the learning process by:

  • Designing detailed educational curriculum, including dates, topics and number of hours required per course

  • Determining evaluation criteria

  • Developing and edit learning material and content

  • Developing instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools

  • Appling tested instructional design theories, practice and methods

  • Creating supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)

  • Creating and validate assessment tools

  • Areas of training include, but are not limited to, technical and soft skill training

  • Develops engaging learning activates and course materials that improves retention and transfer of knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models

  • Understanding of varied learning styles

  • Curriculum and experience planning skills

  • Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts

  • Familiar with website design, video technology and editing

  • Great networking and interpersonal abilities.

  • Strong planning skills, vision, and creative intelligence

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines

  • Proficient in consulting with business leaders and SME’s

Required Skills

  • Foundational knowledge of Instructional Design principles and adult learning theory.

  • Experience in customized, thoughtful, creative Learning Experiences beyond basic eLearning.

  • Extensive knowledge of best practices in the creation & design of instructional materials for adult education and/or corporate training

  • Ability to effectively present complex technical and soft-skill concepts through design and visuals.

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience as an Instructional Designer preferred.

Start Date: 10-Jul-2023

End Date: 31-Dec-2024

Travel Required: Yes

Base Pay Range: $30.56/hr. - $31.65/hr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
