TIAA Manager, Enterprise Events Business Management in Charlotte, North Carolina

Business Management

The Business Management job is responsible for providing strategic support for the assigned business area. Under minimal supervision, this job executes strategic business management consulting to leaders by analyzing metrics and presentations to support business strategies, driving business management policies and routines, and being a point of contact for leaders in the execution of business management tasks.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Generates complex metrics and drafts and reviews reports in assigned functional business area to inform decisions on tactical issues that impact the business.

  • Implements policies and procedures in support of the business area strategy.

  • Implements process improvements in the assigned business area.

  • Analyzes and reports on area data (financial, headcount, etc.) and performance metrics.

  • Supports business management projects by documenting risks, issues and action items.

  • Drives meeting planning in support of business projects and objectives.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operational elements for the Enterprise Events team including sourcing, contracting, budget and vendor management (these functions serve as the foundation for hundreds of externally facing programs each year)

  • Serve as the team subject matter expert for operational needs

  • Serve as team subject matter expert for operational functions including but not limited to contracting, sourcing, legal, accounting, budgeting and vendor management

  • Understand and convey processes and protocols related to operational functions

  • Nurtures internal relationships with sourcing, accounting, legal and finance managers

  • Expense management, processes invoices and payment requests as needed

  • Maintains detailed budget tracking for team as well as large-scale programs

  • Manages national vendor relationships

  • Coordinates process, budget management and reporting for the team. This requires working across the entire team to ensure budget oversight and transparency within the team and with business partners.

  • Supports Enterprise Events leadership team with power point decks and marketing plans

  • Supports Enterprise Events lead with various team-related tasks including team communications, CVent entries, calendar management, meetings, offsites and presentations

  • Supports Conference Services

  • Serves as team lead in working across the organization to define and develop measurement tools needed for events and conferences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three plus years of experience sourcing, contracting, and budget management .

  • Three plus years of Strong PowerPoint presentation skills

  • Three plus years of excellent project management, communication and organizational skills

  • Three plus years with the ability to evaluate and negotiate contracts

  • Three plus years with the ability to learn and navigate internal processes

  • Three plus years with the ability to manage multiple vendors for a variety of work (outsourced events, event production, videos, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Event and conference/sponsorship experience preferred

  • General knowledge of diversified financial services industry

  • CVent experience preferred

  • Minimal travel may be required *

Potential Salary: $95,900.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
