Rept & Inv Accounting
Manages the financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing and other accounting functions for the organization.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization are followed; working closely with internal auditors, public accountants, federal tax examiners, and other financial professionals ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems.
Preparing or leading preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.
Producing accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use, in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

University (Degree), Preferred

- 5 Years of Accounting and Financial Statement Reporting Required
7 years Accounting and Financial Statement Reporting Experience Preferred
Thorough knowledge of GAAP, including experience in investment company accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Public accounting experience
BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience with hedge funds and Global Investment Performance Standards
Proven track record for managing complex projects and transactions
2+ years of experience managing people
Experience interacting with internal and external auditors
Experience with Bloomberg, WSO and Advent Geneva
Ability to identify areas of improvement and implement necessary enhancements
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees accounting processes for unregistered funds and separate accounts with investments in corporate and convertible bonds, senior loans, collateralized obligations, equity securities, and derivatives.
Manages a global team of accounting professionals; provides direction to team for related daily operating activities. Assesses performance, provides feedback, and develops team members to deliver superior business results.
Networks with senior personnel to expand knowledge, gain insight, and influence outcomes. Collaborates with business partners across the organization, including Asset Management, Valuations, Tax, Legal, Product Management, Middle Office, Client Services, Accounting Policy, Treasury, and Compliance.
This role is open across the US, however, the preferred location is Charlotte, NC.
Potential Salary: $150,000.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
