Senior Lead Engineering Manager Cloud

The Senior Lead Engineering Manager Cloud job leads in design planning for the company's cloud platform. This job implements operational plans for the processes and standards of developing the organization's technology architecture through the creation of a new cloud platform design. Additionally, this job lends consultative support to multiple teams within the organization to provide high-level technical expertise and insight, along with maintaining consistent knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the related technology space.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders on the strategic vision for the enterprise leveraging cloud, managed solutions and traditional capabilities; make recommendations on new solutions and technologies

  • Architects, designs and implements new, cutting edge cloud platform within the organization.

  • Ensures cloud platform allows business applications to transform into scalable, elastic systems that can be created on demand.

  • Implements hardware and software infrastructure updates and improvements as needed and integration with the cloud infrastructure.

  • Provides threat analysis consultation, when needed, across functional teams of the organization, both within the operating business unit and to Information Technology management and staff.

  • Maintains highly technical knowledge of Information Technology trends and emerging technologies to best inform cloud design, architecture and decision making processes.

  • Communicates with management and leadership to provide updates and ensure integration of new system with existing operations to support the organization's cloud strategy.

The objective of this position is drive adoption of cloud based technologies to meet Nuveen specific business requirments and drive targeted line of business outcomes. The role will be responsible for planning and mapping high level migration strategy to optimize costs, improve resiliency, enable global business requirements, and increase speed to marget for critical initiatives. This role will be responsible to develop, manage and update the cloud specific business cases as well as monitor for ongoing cost optimization opportunities. Also, the position will be responsible to create and enable reusable blueprints through DevOps integration and develop patterns for infrastructure as code. The role will embed within functional IT teams to design and deliver on strategical cloud related projects while mentoring and developing team skillsets.



  • Minimum of 2+ years of High proficiency in designing and developing cloud system architectures

  • High proficiency in developing DevOps pipeline with 3+ years using build automation and developing Infrastructure as Code in terraform or related technologies.

  • 2+ years of developing cloud business cases and possess a deep understanding of Cloud financials; Cloud security technologies and IAM

  • Deep understanding of Cloud security technologies and Identity and Access Management (IAM)


  • Associate or Professional level certification in AWS Cloud Architecture

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science or Related Field Preferred

Potential Salary: $187,600.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
