Senior Sourcing Manager

The Senior Sourcing Manager will be responsible for managing the end to end sourcing process within our Global Supplier Services (GSS) department. GSS encompasses Sourcing, Purchasing and our Enterprise Vendor Management Program (EVPO) teams. The Senior Sourcing Manager will build relationships with key business partners and suppliers while developing, leading and executing the sourcing strategy for the assigned categories. This role works under limited supervision to minimize contract/supplier risk, analyze data, and maximize savings in support of the business and strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Main area of responsibility is supporting TIAA’s CS&T (Client Services & Technology) organization which primarily consists of categories consisting of software (SaaS, on-prem), hardware (infrastructure, storage, network, etc), and professional services categories.

  • Leads negotiations of supplier contracts (many on supplier paper), sourcing and procurement for a variety of company departments to ensure consistency as well as satisfaction and success.

  • Facilitates and drives collaborative and strong relationships with peers in Global Supplier Services as well as suppliers, business partners and control partners (risk, legal, info security, etc.) across the Enterprise.

  • Prepares contracts and other related documents using competitive sourcing, benchmarking, and category strategies to deliver continuous cost performance and process improvement.

  • Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine optimal pricing and minimize supplier risk.

  • Develops, owns and leads category strategy aligning to the business priorities.

  • Conducts research on suppliers to ensure that the organization and industry standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply are met.

  • Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to proactively identify needs of business partners.

Educational Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing,procurement or purchasing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing,procurement or purchasing

  • Experience in strategic sourcing in the financial services industry

  • Advanced level Sourcing, Procurement, and Category Management

  • Knowledge of the financial services and/or Insurance industry, or industry with regulated environment

  • Prior experience supporting an Information Technology (IT) organization with a focus on sourcing technology and professional services.

  • Strong skills in relationship building, negotiation, communication, coupled with diplomacy and an executive presence

  • Experience in managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent knowledge of RFP process and supplier selection best practices

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Extensive experience in contract management including working on SaaS, MSA, Statements of Work, Order Forms.

  • University degree, MBA or JD degree

Base Pay Range: $93,000/yr. - $155,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
