TIAA Senior Windows and VMware Server Administrator in Charlotte, North Carolina

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds, deploys, maintains, and assist with repairs of Windows and VMware servers/hosts on racks, blades, and hyper converged infrastructures

  • Provide operational support/system administration of server hardware/OS that includes coordinating server hardware/OS repair with vendors, storage migrations, refresh of server OS/hardware, updating firmware/drivers, server decommissions, patching, implementing/supporting complex/high availability systems, assist with disaster recovery, software deployments

  • Troubleshoots and resolves server infrastructure related issues, collaborating with internal and external teams

  • Develops and maintains documentation on server infrastructure, software systems components, and disaster recovery methodology

  • Ensures server backups are running on a regular basis, addressing backup failures and restores files as needed

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required

Career Level



  • Minimum of five (5) years experience with Windows Server 2012/2016 and later operating systems, patching, backup/restore, monitoring and other management/administration software and components

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with administration of Server virtualization and hyperconverged technologies, like VMware and Nutanix

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Microsoft Active Directory and windows clustering technologies

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with SAN/NAS storage sub-systems

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with scripting for automation server-related tasks


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience working with Microsoft technologies/products - SCCM, SCOM, Office 365,

  • Experience supporting replication technologies/products – Zerto, Double-Take

  • Experience with cloud technologies – AWS, Azure

  • Microsoft Certifications (i.e. MCSE, MCSA, MCP)

  • VMware certification (VCP or higher)

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, multi-task, prioritize/reorganize and work well under pressure

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally

  • Better understanding of Enterprise information security and best practices

Minimum Pay: $84,690.00
