Sr Associate, Private Infrastructure
As a Senior Associate for Nuveen's Real Asset team focused on private equity infrastructure investments, your role will include portfolio management and surveillance activities across the firm's existing private equity and subdebt investment portfolios such as private equity funds, co-investments, direct equity, mezzanine and subordinated debt investments as well as origination activities for new investments.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Assist in underwriting and oversite of direct equity and subordinated debt investments including responding to investor requests in coordination with internal business partners, preparation of board materials and presentations, assisting various business partners to address valuation, accounting, legal and compliance deliverables and other quantitative and qualitative analysis on an ad-hoc basis.
Support the internal Sales and Product team’s third-party distribution efforts for Nuveen’s private infrastructure investments.
Assist in screening, underwriting and structuring limited partnership commitments with external infrastructure fund managers; Underwriting activities will include LP commitments to funds meeting investment strategy criteria as well as select co-investments in core infrastructure assets.
Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on existing infrastructure portfolio.
Assist in portfolio activities including credit reviews, market research, rating agency analysis, sponsor evaluation, and investment modifications.
Assist in researching and analyzing both macro and portfolio trends (including modeling through the investment’s lifecycle) of subordinated debt, direct equity, co-investment, private equity fund, and mezzanine investments in projects across sectors such as transportation, transmission, renewable energy, storage, social infrastructure (campus energy, student housing, municipal facilities, healthcare, etc.) and digital infrastructure (data centers, fiber optic networks, towers, DNS, etc.) that will drive portfolio on-going construction and investment thesis.
Work with internal business partners to ensure all legal, compliance, and accounting requirements are met.
Prepare memoranda and other materials used to support investment and portfolio recommendations and to communicate with internal business partners and external clients.
Closely monitor the performance of existing portfolio investments and manage regular communication with sponsors, investment partners, and banking intermediaries.
Maintain investment performance databases and files.

University (Degree), Preferred
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work
2 years experience
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and/or CFA preferred
Three or more years of institutional investment and/or private equity infrastructure/project finance and valuation experience
Prior investment experience with infrastructure or energy assets preferred
Strong MS Excel modeling skills
Broad industry experience in power, transportation, renewable energy, etc.
Knowledge and ongoing interest in, current trends, success factors, participants and industry terms in infrastructure and energy investment markets
Familiarity with project documents, service agreements, joint venture agreements, financing agreements, etc.
Demonstrated experience developing and using financial statement analysis and financial modeling
Strong knowledge of accounting and finance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work hard in a team-oriented, performance-based environments
Minimum Pay: $112,500.00
