TIAA Sr Network Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina
TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Network Engineer. This role will design, deploy, and support our global network infrastructures using industry best practices. We work in a Hybrid-Flex environment (i.e., 3 days are required to work in the office and 2 days you can work virtually).
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Design, deploy, and support global network infrastructures utilizing industry best practices.
Contribute to the development of automation solutions for various network hardware, including Cisco Data Center and User Access service offerings, F5 Load Balancers, Palo Alto Firewalls, NGINX Application Deployment Orchestration tools, and Riverbed Monitoring tools.
Collaborate with other technical Infrastructure Teams, Application SMEs, and Business Information Security Officers (BISOs) on protocol risk.
Lead technical implementation for large and complex Network Programs, develop documentation,and capacity plans.
Deliver technical briefings, solution design sessions, and proofs-of-concept to stakeholders at alllevels.
Identify, research, and evaluate infrastructure strategies, hardware/software, security, andnetworking products.
Advise management on options, risks vs. costs, benefits, and other impacts of infrastructuresolutions.
Set technical standards for network infrastructure, security baselines, policies, and procedures.
Work with outsourcing vendors to drive sound architectures, engineering designs, andconfiguration templates.
Participate in on-call rotation with the Engineering Team and serve as an escalation contact for service incidents.

Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting, monitoring, configuring, and implementing enterprise networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors on a large enterprise and global scale
At least one (1) year experience with cloud provider (i.e., AWS, Azure or GCP) integrations
Pr eferred Qualifications :
Possess a deep understanding and experience with routing protocols (such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network protocols (such as IPv4, IPv6, NAT, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS)
Knowledge of routing and switching hardware platforms architecture, forwarding, and data planes
Demonstrated ability to communicate with users, technical teams, and management to collect requirements and translate them into credible, high-quality, and resilient designs based on organizational roadmaps and standards
Experience with Data Center network design and engineering, multi-site architecture, spine/leaf configuration, VDCs, and edge routing
Possess professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE R&S, CCIE Datacenter, CCDE, CISSP, GSEC, GIAC, or AWS Networking Specialist
Experience with network automation platforms (e.g., Ansible) and scripting for network automation, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support

Base Pay Range: $94,500/yr. - $163,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
