Investment Ops Manager
The Investment Operations Manager is responsible for supervising a team of professional level employees who are responsible for various operational processes pertinent to trade processing, settlements, securities transfer and record maintenance. This job leads the team in the execution of operational activities for the investment function, supporting the management of capital on behalf of pensions, endowments, corporate plan sponsors, and other institutional investors.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Oversees various asset management operational processes, including trade processing, settlements, and securities transfers, as well as the preparation of financial statements and performance reports, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Ensures investors accounts are monitored and that team members coordinate effectively with custodians and external managers.
Implements process improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, communicating recommendations for further process improvement opportunities to management team.
Ensures compliance with investment restrictions, laws, Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), tax codes, and other corporate and regulatory policies by implementing and monitoring operational processes.
Collaborates with legal counsel and outside auditors on filings, examinations, reporting, and other related tasks as needed.
Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional operational processes and to foster team member engagement, motivation, and development.

Nuveen has an opportunity for a Vice President, Internal Client & Vendor Management. This role will be a part of the Nuveen Global Investment Operations team that reports into the MD, Client Support & Transformation. This position can be located in Charlotte, NC, New York City, NY or Chicago, IL.
The Nuveen Global Investment Operations team provides operational support for investment activities across Nuveen and its affiliates and plays a leadership role in the transformation of how services are delivered to our internal clients. This includes the continued integration of affiliates onto future state platforms, consolidation and validation of data, process improvement and risk mitigation, and the implementation of new capabilities to support the rapid growth of assets under management and the complexity of assets managed. Stakeholder identification, engagement, and communication are an essential component of successful outcomes.
The role is multi-faceted and will evolve with the business. Immediate areas of focus include:
Internal Client Management
Identify and build relationships with key front office business partners (client services, trading, portfolio management)
Understand and communicate to NGIO leadership changes in investment strategies, products, and clients that may require new capabilities or additional capacity within NGIO support.
Develop communication strategy to keep key stakeholders informed of projects and priorities within NGIO including rationale, impacts and timing.
Create periodic (quarterly or semi-annual) reporting highlighting where NGIO has delivered services or capabilities requested by our front-office business partners.
Change Management - Improve how we manage the overall Change portfolio.
Capacity planning
Budgeting
Stakeholder communications
Non-IT capacity planning and resourcing
Strategic project governance
Steering committees
Project prioritization
Scope change management
Managed services / outsourcing transformation
Leadership role in the evaluation of managed services/outsourcing opportunities for operational “commodity” functions
Lead role in implementing managed services/outsourcing opportunities.

Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience of related finance experience with Asset Management and Investment Operations
Minimum of 7 years’ experience with Business Transformation and Collateral Management
Minimum of 7 years’ experience working across Operations, Technology, and Front Office that attained mutually agreeable solutions.
Minimum of 7 years working in a financial services organization managing internal clients and vendors.
Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience working closely with senior leadership (VP and above); experience creating and delivering communication messaging to all types of stakeholders.
Ability to align goal development and implementation strategies to promote organization’s objectives and ensure exceptional and on time completion of projects; foresees and plans for possible contingencies.
Preferred:
Ability to optimize workflows, ensuring compliance with market regulations, and increase the organization’s revenue.
Ability to manage/monitor the overall change portfolio.
Experience building relationships and taking appropriate action to gain cooperation, establish rapport and building consensus.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with financial regulations and implemented operational risk and controls in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
Experience with the account allocation process of daily trades
Experience with developing strategies and tactics for implementation
Possess strong analytical skills on the end-to-end processes that linked capabilities and priorities.
Minimum Pay: $95,310.00
