AVP, Product Marketing Closed-End Funds

This role is responsible for aiding in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies supporting Nuveen’s Closed-End Fund (CEF) primary and secondary investment platform. Key duties include executing investor notices/regulatory announcements, managing updates of existing marketing collateral and website, creating digital and social content, assisting with all product launch/IPO activities and other deliverables as needed. This individual will report to the VP of Product Marketing, CEFs. Our Marketing organization is matrixed and requires this individual to demonstrate the ability to successfully work with a variety of stakeholders and discipline experts to drive key product marketing initiatives. This individual will also serve as a primary marketing interface with Product Management, Client Portfolio Management, Investments and Compliance to ensure timely execution of projects that align with firm-wide priorities, and help raise awareness of and meaningfully grow or retain assets.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Understand Nuveen’s brand strategy, competitive assets, and market position to develop strong messaging hierarchy and effective content strategy supporting our CEF platform

  • Execute comprehensive marketing plans and related activities surrounding new product launches (IPOs) and Investor Relations program, including content strategy, creation, production and distribution through all marketing platforms (digital, print, advertising, etc.)

  • Take proactive role in driving communication with product teams and channel marketing to ensure most effective and efficient marketing materials and distribution while looking for new ways to position and promote the products

  • Communicate marketing strategies and initiatives with internal partners, including compilation and dissemination of regular reporting that displays key metrics on marketing initiatives as well as soliciting feedback and information for improvement

  • Collaborate with marketing verticals (example: brand, PR, channel, digital, design) to ensure proper alignment of resources against product initiatives

  • Work with compliance departments to ensure materials meet FINRA and/or SEC regulatory guidelines

  • Take initiative to explore new approaches to increase efficiency and improve processes without sacrificing creativity or quality

  • Monitor and report on literature usage, web traffic and campaign metrics and make recommendations for enhancements/changes to improve efficiencies and resource usage

  • Manage and execute periodic updates of marketing collateral and web content including presentations, strategy pieces, product and market commentaries, web pages and paid search, and other sales-support/investor relations materials and content

  • Proofread all marketing content throughout the development and approval process to ensure it is accurate and compliant; create new content and copyedit existing content when needed

  • Support compliance processes from initial submission to final approval

Required Qualifications:

  • Five plus years of marketing experience, preferably in the asset management or financial services industry

  • Five plus years as a proven self-starter able to successfully initiate and manage projects independently, with minimal direction and oversight

  • Five plus years of demonstrating a track record of managing multiple projects from beginning to end, providing effective, on-time delivery and implementation within budget guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university

  • Strong marketing background; marketing performance optimization and relationship management experience

  • Background of success in marketing investment products, preferably for Closed End Funds

  • Recognized ability to lead the development and production of effective marketing communications programs

  • Experience crafting clear, compelling and compliant marketing messaging

  • Driven, goal-oriented individual seeking to make a measurable difference and improvements that will help advance corporate initiatives and grow platform assets

  • Series 7 a plus

Potential Salary: $119,300.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
