Key Responsibilities and Duties
Assists in the development and execution of the overall Client Transitions strategy including acting as subject matter expert to drive strategic initiatives related to client transitions in partnership with Business Transformation and ensuring effective and timely communication of initiative status, particularly with client-facing stakeholders to keep them abreast of key developments.
Manages the Client Transitions team to build and develop a high performing team including leading, mentoring and training team members.
Implements and maintains established project plans, on-boarding checklists, and account set up requirements to ensure timely execution of key deliverables to meet client requirements.
Undertakes effective issue management practice to ensure timely resolution of key roadblocks, escalating where appropriate.
Supports the re-engineering and enhancement of existing operational and service models to improve scalability, enhance operational controls, and mitigate business risk.
Liaises and builds trust-based relationships with the client and key client stakeholders (e.g. consultants, investment managers, and outsourced service providers) as appropriate, for successful delivery of client transitions activities.
Provides management and oversight regarding operational setup parameters and progress.
Stays abreast of regulatory changes that may impact Nuveen’s processes related to client transition activities.

Nuveen is seeking an Client Transitions Manager for our Client Transitions Group. The Client Transitions job is responsible for the day to day management of the Client Transitions team who perform transitions-related activities for institutional clients globally which may include but is not limited to: new client on-boarding, off-boarding due to terminations, in-kind/out-kind transitions, and asset mix and custodian changes. In addition, this job manages the team through account maintenance activities and Client Services support as needed with benchmark, account name and fee schedule changes, along with investment management agreement (IMA) and guidelines revisions. This job acts on behalf of the client to find and implement solutions to complex and critical new account setups and transitions requiring interaction across internal the firm's global partners (e.g., Product, Operations, Client Service, Legal, Finance, Reporting) as well as external client service providers (e.g., Custodians, Administrators, Trustees, Consultants).
Required Skills:
5 or more years of experience in client servicing and/or client transitions
Experience and knowledge within public market asset classes
Experience using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Project management skills – able to juggle several projects at same time
Experience leading teams
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of complex instruments including derivatives and alternatives
Ability to work & make decisions under pressure, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
Communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Highly motivated and results driven
Detail-focused and organized with strong communication/written/presentation skills
Self-motivated person with a professional approach who can manage effectively in a diverse team environment
Networking skills and ability to develop strong relationships
Ability to travel from time to time, as needed
Able to investigate and solve complex issues on behalf of clients

Base Pay Range: $105,000/yr. - $175,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
