Information Security Engineer

The Information Security Engineer will participate in the activities of a global, expert team that develops robust technical solutions and advanced analytics to enforce preventive threat detection controls. This role is part of the Security Technology Endpoint Engineering team which is responsible for supporting the enterprise security framework and collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization to implement effective threat detection controls on TIAA endpoints. The Security Technologies Endpoint Engineering Team will leverage various technical and non-technical datasets for early detection of threats and work closely with affected BUs to ensure threat activities are managed effectively and efficiently both on prim and in the cloud. The Information Security Engineer is expected to have a strong work ethic as well as be able to think analytically about complex issues.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Build and maintain operation and configuration documentation including diagrams and flow charts.

• Participate in change management activities while adhering to established environmental control processes.

• Attend daily standups, technical project meetings, and leverage team leads to maintain application and infrastructure configurations, uptimes, and metrics.

• Gather, develop, and deploy requirements both functional and technical in nature as defined by customers, stakeholders, and control owners.

• Participate in disaster recovery and on-call schedules as necessary.

• Track and remediate escalated incident tickets for supported security toolsets.

• Participate as a contributing member of initiatives and projects under the supervision of an engineering lead.

• Execute defined cloud security strategies and roadmaps as defined by senior team members.

  • Workstation, server, or infrastructure device support experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Defender

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud products and services

  • Experience with O365 products

  • Experience coding in Python, PowerShell, Java or another language

  • Solid comprehension of networking concepts

  • Strong expertise with database concepts, and MS SQL queries

  • Experience with Splunk dashboards and queries


Potential Salary: $92,800.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
