Sr Legal Operations Officer
This job is responsible for providing operational support for the Law & Policy organization while working closely with the General Counsel executive leadership team to achieve the department's strategic goals. This job supervises a team of experienced professionals accountable for developing and leading processes and practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team. This role also partners closely with the Global Capabilities team to drive many operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Serves as a trusted and strategic advisor to the General Counsel executive leadership team on matters handled by the Legal Operations team. This includes contract negotiations and life cycle, Outside Counsel program including engagement, eBilling and invoice management, Technology strategy and process support, eDiscovery, Records and Knowledge Management, Business Management and project management work, etc.
Drives and executes on the strategic priorities for the Legal Operations function; measures and reports results. Serves as a change agent and assists the General Counsel executive leadership team in driving culture change.
Leads transformational projects defined within Law & Policy; provides guidance to Legal Operations and Global Capabilities on programs that are in place to drive efficiency and process standardization, and enhance cost controls and strategies.
Maintains and supports implementation of policies and procedures in support of the business area strategy.
Directly oversees performance and development of Legal Operations team through regular, timely feedback; additionally, has responsibilities for the Global Capabilities team supporting Legal Operations to ensure delivery of results on Law & Policy’s strategy.
Supports business management projects by monitoring and tracking risks, issues and action items. Analyzes and reports on area data (financial, headcount, etc.) and performance metrics.

Must be a detail-oriented self-starter who can independently, proactively, and strategically improve and direct the Legal Operations function
Exceptional financial acumen and problem-solving skills
Prior experience with various technology platforms – e.g., case management, those related to budget and Finance (OnIt), etc.
Prior experience negotiating and managing external relationships (e.g., vendors)
Proven capability to cultivate innovation by seeking new and better ways to help the organization be successful
Prior experience managing legal operations in an in-house legal setting preferred
College or advanced degree in business management preferred

Base Pay Range: $175,000/yr - $250,000/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
