Responsiblefor GAAP accounting, oversight, and financial reporting for certain Nuveensubsidiaries and assets under management; primarily real estate investments
Researchaccounting guidance, prepare technical memos, and coordinate with AccountingPolicy team to ensure appropriate application of accounting principles
Determinesand implements oversight procedures with the ability to independently performtesting within complex and/or technical accounting subject matters
Participatein new product launches.
Staysabreast of changes in GAAP, IFRS, SEC and industry literature to ensurecompliance with financial and regulatory reporting requirements
Overseesthe work of Nuveen accountants, interns, and external accounting managers
Liaiseswith external auditors for the timely completion of audit procedures and theissuance of audited financial statements
Presentsfinancial highlights at management meetings
Partnersacross business lines within Nuveen, including, but not limited to, AssetManagement, Middle Office, Risk Management, Valuations, Tax, Legal &Compliance, Treasury, and Business Development
Maintainsa sound internal control environment
4+years of accounting work experience
Bachelor’sdegree in Accounting or Finance
MBAor CPA is preferred
Priorpublic accounting experience
Experiencein real estate accounting
Knowledgeof SEC reporting
Knowledgeof Yardi system is a plus
Excellentcommunication ( written and oral), with senior leaders and peers, facilitation,interpersonal and collaborative skills
Proficientin Excel and Word
Excellentcommunication skills; this role involves regular interaction with management,peers, and internal and external business partners
Self-directed,self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ableto apply technical knowledge to identify ways to complete assignmentsefficiently and improve existing procedures
Stronganalytical skills and knowledge of GAAP to ensure the accurate accounting andreporting for real estate and debt funds
