Nuveen Strategy and Management
The Strategy and Management team operates under the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for internal consulting engagements. The team provides counsel to senior leadership of Nuveen and manages cross-functional initiatives. Reporting to Nuveenâs Head of Strategy, the person in this role will provide thought leadership for highest level strategic decisions, translate strategy into actionable plans, partner with business units to manage large-scale programs, develop hypotheses and conduct analyses, and communicate recommendations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
â¢ Work closely with leaders across functions â such as Sales, Marketing, Investments, Operations, Technology, and Finance â to define and execute strategic initiatives
â¢ Turn ideas into business cases and help executives prioritize
â¢ Identify, frame, and evaluate opportunities and capability gaps
â¢ Prepare executive-level presentations for the Nuveen and TIAA leaders and Board members to garner approval for strategic recommendationsÂ
â¢ Help leaders and colleagues manage day-to-day operations of high-priority programsÂ
â¢ Collaborate with experts to translate technical information (data science, analytics, technology) into business insights
â¢ Develop understandings of markets, business trends, and operations and apply knowledge to initiatives across Nuveen to inform key decisions
â¢ Provide âbig pictureâ thinking, connecting across business units and/or developing long-term solutions
- University (Degree) Preferred
- 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work
- 5+ years of experience in management consulting (Engagement Manager/Project Leader) or corporate strategy
7+ years of experience in management consulting (Engagement Manager/Project Leader) or corporate strategy
Prior experience in financial services
Prior experience effectively managing relationships with executives, multiple teams, complex processes, critical services, and cross-functional projects
Strong influencing, relationship management, and partnering skills
Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to deliver under pressure and provide insights in short timeframes
High degree of comfort working in an unstructured environment that requires solving complex, open-ended issues with incomplete data and little direction
A team orientation, collaborative, and collegial style
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Ability to coach, supervise, and lead junior staff through formal and informal reporting linesÂ
Base Pay Range: $123,800/yr. - $206,300/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.Â In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
