TIAA Senior Director, Experimentation Practice Lead, Corporate Labs and Experiments in Columbus, Ohio

Labs and Experiments

The Practice Leader of Corporate Lab and Experimentation oversees a team of Experiment Leads and a portfolio of experiments that deliver rapid, high-impact data and learnings. This highly visible role ensures experiments are prioritized to drive strategic business outcomes and leads the promotion of a test and learn culture across the enterprise.

This thought leader works with multidisciplinary partners to continually optimize TIAA's experimentation operating model based on evolving business dynamics, ensuring teams are well-positioned to identify and test key assumptions about customer behavior in production environments across channels, with emphasis on customer journeys that include digital touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prioritizes and translates customer problems into disciplined experiments that yield measurable results and actionable recommendations.

  • Applies innovative experiment methodologies, drawing on disciplines like design thinking, systems thinking, agile, foresight and service design.

  • Develops and maintains experimentation playbook, templates and enterprise-wide toolkits.

  • Hires, manages, and develops an expert team of Experiment Leads responsible for guiding teams through experiment projects end-to-end.

  • Manages vendor partnerships and work product, as needed.

  • Manage a rolling portfolio of experiments aligned to B2B or B2C customer journeys, continually optimizing best practices for design, execution, risk management, decision making, and implementation.

  • Builds and manages relationships with sponsors, stakeholders, and key leadership partners.

  • Expert in the business area including pain points, work in flight, hypotheses and backlog of potential experiments.

  • Designs and facilitates cross-functional workshops with senior leaders to drive business outcomes on a range of objectives including strategic alignment, assumptions mapping, experiment design and translating recommendations into action.

  • Prioritizes opportunities and leads projects to invest in partnerships, technologies, and cross-organizational protocols that reduce friction and enable experimentation across all customer channels.

  • Builds and delivers content for training cross-functional audiences, teaching experimentation mindset, methodologies and best practices.

Job location

  • Partner teams are located primarily in Charlotte, NYC and Frisco, TX. Role will require regular on-site attendance to lead workshops and attend key working sessions; 25% travel will be required if remote.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years experience building, managing, and developing high-performing teams.

  • 5+ years experience designing and running disciplined experiments within enterprise organizations.

  • 5+ years working in a digital product organization, managingcross-disciplinary partnerships with UX design, product management, research, marketing, analytics, engineering, and legal/risk/compliance teams.

  • 7+ years experience leveraging VoC, qual/quant research inputs and data/analytics to ensure “the customer” remains at the forefront of defining hypotheses to test.

  • 7+ years experience coaching or facilitating groups of people.

Additional skills & experience

  • Proven track record of leading or supporting successful transformations or experimentation practices within enterprise organizations.

  • Ability to design and deliver executive-level artifacts, templates, training programs, workshops, and interactive sessions to continue strengthening experimentation acumen.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build cross-functional partnerships.

Base Pay Range: $168,900/yr. - $220,700/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
