TIAA Senior Data Analyst - PHP in Dallas, Texas

Senior Data Analyst

The role of Senior Data Analyst on NCC (National Contact Center) Data Enablement team is particularly specialized in PHP. The standard job duties will be designing, implementing, and maintaining internal web applications, and ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) processes. The development is database-oriented, in a complex, non-homogeneous environment. The PHP development is a combination of web based and CLI. The Data Enablement team is part of NCC Reporting, which is centered around creating internal reporting for the contact center leadership. The work done by the Data Enablement team is to build the foundational components for this reporting, build metrics (scorecards), create specialized reporting, and fulfill ad hoc requests. The team is focused on implementing standards practices and refactoring code towards a more modern implementation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Handles daily PHP, front-end, and SQL duties for medium to high complexity changes for web applications and ETL processes.

  • Designs new features and applications based on incoming business requirements or internal needs.

  • Encourages team to work towards standardization, best practices, and industry experience.

  • Assists in creation and adherence to coding guidelines.

  • Triages incoming work and provides guidance and feedback for addressing difficult issues.

  • Works autonomously and engages in proactive measures that address the needs of the stakeholders and the team.

  • Does code reviews, QA, and training to elevate junior team members, as well as the entire group.

  • Contributes ideas that help improve the team's overall performance and effectiveness.

  • Diagnoses defects and performance issues, with solutions geared towards long-term efficacy and growth.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Work Experience

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work

Career Level

7IC

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with PHP & SQL

  • 3+ years of experience with Version Control

  • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, and/or CSS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing code standards and team-oriented processes

  • Experience with version control (preferably Git)

  • Experience with issue tracking (preferably Jira)

  • Experience with writing complex SQL queries (we primarily use Oracle and Snowflake)

  • Experience with unit-testing (preferably PHPUnit)

  • Experience with static analysis tools (PhpStorm Inspections, PHPStan)

  • Experience supporting a call-center environment Experience doing PHP development in a Windows environment

  • Experience consuming REST API services

  • Experience managing Apache HTTP (on Windows)

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $90,100/yr. - $128,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
