TIAA Senior Director, Experience Design in Dallas, Texas
The Senior Director plays a critical strategic role in leading experiences that are connected across a complex ecosystem of user journeys. This role is a perfect fit for a leader with a strong and inclusive design POV, the ability to connect the dots, and the desire to bring out the best in others. This leader will manage day-to-day design activities while also effectively working with senior partners across multiple lines of business on strategy, prioritization, and delivery. They will lead an extremely talented team of product designers to power TIAA's retirement experiences.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Manage a design team that partners with research, content, data science, legal and compliance, product management and engineering teams to establish modern, best practices for end-to-end experience design.
Lead with self-awareness and empathy, looking to get the most out of others and providing constructive and on-going feedback, coaching, and mentoring to help people achieve their full potential.
Execute the mission for the team with a radically user-centric and iterative mindset.
See the big picture and define and advocate for an ambitious design vision to drive the most impact for the organization through scalable strategies. Deliver against the vision using new ways of working and technologies such as AI.
Communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and compelling way to audiences of all levels of understanding and seniority in an organization acting as an advocate for human centered design.
Work successfully and influentially across a diverse group of stakeholders in a range of different functions and roles to drive towards shared outcomes.
Bring a maker mindset so teams can iterate and experiment to challenge the status quo and improve processes for creating future-forward product experiences.
Model and demonstrate that everyone is an owner through thoughts, actions, and behaviors. Actively get things done, raising the bar for performance, and taking accountability for your own actions.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of UX design and /or design management experience
Strong and demonstrated background in: enterprise experience design; consumer product design; mobile platform design in an agile delivery model and a track record of shipping high impact outcomes in a fast-moving and changing environment
Demonstrate working knowledge of or practice in Figma
Strong team management and team building skills. Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring leads and individual contributors, as well as developing talent and upgrading craft skills
Successful track record of creative problem-solving across cross-functional partners to drive best-in-class thinking from all parts of the organization while leading all phases of the design process
Demonstrated experience designing and contributing to a design system across an enterprise with an openness to partner and collaborate

Base Pay Range: $160,700/yr. - $223,400/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
