TIAA Sr. Lead VMware Engineer in Dallas, Texas
The Senior Lead Engineer job designs information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. While establishing operational plans, this job is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's operating systems.
Currently, TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Lead VMware Engineer. This role will support the VMware technologies in a self-service, highly automated enterprise hybrid-cloud environment Currently we are leveraging a heavily customized vRealize Automation Suite for automated deployments and management of VM’s on large-scale, hyper-converged infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a SME and will have responsibility for the entire virtualization environment including strategy, engineering, operationalization and top level escalation of virtualization issues. Key Responsibilities and Duties
Provide engineering/architecture and management of enterprise-wide VMware technologies.
Bring Subject Matter Expert experience of VMware/Virtualization to team, drive implementation of new solutions.
Advance VMware technologies and architectures throughout organization.
Design, Deploy, Configure and Manage vSphere suite for high-availability and efficiency.
Resource would be the "AI Champion" for the Virtual Computing engineering team taking advantage of AI Powered solutions and technologies that can be leveraged in the infrastructure space to increase productivity and efficiency and offer new services in this area to our customers.
Automate infrastructure build and configuration leveraging PowerShell/PowerCLI/vRO.
Understanding of HA and DR concepts as they apply to Infrastructure Designs.
Provide Tier III SME support for VMware virtualization platform.
Analyze data critical to capacity forecasting, asset management and procurement.
Act as the Lead Engineer / VMware SME.
Collaborate openly and continuously with geographically dispersed team.
Proactively learn and keep up with emerging platforms and related technology.

Required Skills:
5+ years of experience in building and administering VMware Platforms.
Extensive professional experience as a Systems Engineer within an enterprise organization.
Extensive experience with PowerShell/PowerCLI.
Experience with troubleshooting and proactive analytical skills.
Understanding of operating system and network tools and architecture for solving performance issues.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in documenting and implementing best practices and leveraging operations teams.
Experience in mission-critical operations, ideally within a 24x7 large scale distributed and clustered environment.
Working knowledge of Clustering and HA configurations.
Effective verbal and written communications skills.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
Experience with HP server and Blade Chassis or equivalent HW.
Advanced-level experience with Scripting Languages.
Strong understanding of hyper-converged infrastructure (Nutanix, VSAN, etc.).

Base Pay Range: $123,500/yr. - $205,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
