TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Technical Lead Engineer that will provide support to our critical channels such as Unified Desktop and Web (MyTIAA). This position can be located in our Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Broomfield, CO, Dallas, TX or Raleigh/Durham, NC.
This role will have the opportunity to define and execute the delivery strategy for applications and technology consuming Middleware technologies and services. Leveraging your background in Java based application hosting technologies such as WebLogic, TomCat, Jboss, Websphere and HTTP Webserver platforms such as Apache and Nginx you will partner with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering & Host Services, Infrastructure Automation & Development and technology leadership to create and maintain an overall enterprise Middleware integration strategy and future state blueprint that aligns with TIAA’s technology roadmap and business plans. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Work directly withengineering teams on emerging application runtime technologies to defineintegration and delivery strategies through the SDLC resulting in a stable andsecure environment
Identify automation technology opportunities to rapidlydeliver environments while maintaining configuration management across theenterprise
Collaborate on Middleware Engineering strategicroadmaps and execute on technology needs that integrate with the overallenterprise’s technology strategy
Leverage and promote the Middleware framework to buildcommon reusable components for core applications
Provide guidance for various development teams toensure middleware solutions meet long-term objectives and promotes areusable service orientation
Review, engineer and integrate the delivery automationof monitoring and administration technologies that proactively alert onapplication system performance and identify/resolve issues before theybecome service-impacting events
Collaborate and provide guidance to applicationdevelopment teams and infrastructure teams to ensure they are kept currenton technology developments, best practices, and new initiatives
Develop and maintain strong partnership withApplication Development teams to ensure alignment to TIAA’s applicationdesign strategies needed to meet key business requirements
Ten or more years of hands-on technology experience
Five or more years of experience leading a team ofengineers
Hands-on experience with application hostingtechnologies (such as WebLogic, Tomcat, Websphere, Jboss; Apache,NGinX), DevOps platforms (such as Puppet, Docker, Ansible), and CI/CDtools (such as Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory)
Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Engineering or Information Systems
Ability to developInfrastructure as code
Automation Testing concepts: Automated Performance andRegression/Functional Testing
Excellent Written and Verbal Communication: Ability toverbally communicate complex ideas into simple, easy to understandconcepts through conversations, presentations, and discussions
Deep knowledge of Application Runtime
Developer skills in one or more of the following – J2EEJava Script (jQuery, Nodejs)/CSS/HTML, Single Page Applications(AngularJS, React), Responsive Design
Application Design skills - Microservices, REST,JVM (Java - Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate)
