TIAA Lead Data Cloud Developer in Denver, Colorado

TIAA is seeking a Lead Data Cloud Developer who has experience with AWS cloud, database, and automation skills. This role requires the candidate to have knowledge and experience in the development & management of Cloud Data Platforms, CI/CD pipelines that support modern scalable data stores and integrated data flows within AWS Eco-system to align with Application Digital Transformation.

This role involves advancing cloud database automation techniques, data conversion & migration expertise, integration with different workflow engines, familiarity of Relational, Big Data and NO-SQL data stores, developing DB provisioning automation using Terraform and Cloud Formation modules.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide expert level services, including the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation, and integration of new and existing data technologies and tools in a cloud platform.

  • Proficiency in developing and deploying cloud-based databases using AWS native services.

  • Ability to identify key features of AWS services and use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, and SDKs to write Infra-as-Code (IaC) modules.

  • Responsible for development of cloud tools & data services to support operations of Cloud infrastructure, provisioning, monitoring with (IaaS), (PaaS) and (SaaS) models.

  • Perform code development & maintain AWS cloud-based production systems, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security.

  • Be an expert with CI/CD delivery frameworks (e.g., Jenkins / CloudBees), infrastructure as code software tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation), configuration management/orchestration tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible), and version control methodology (e.g GIT)

  • Manage the governance framework for DB-Services specific to private, hybrid and public cloud platform adhering to standards and integration with existing tools.

  • Use Scale Agile Development Methodologies and product management methods

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of five (5+) years of IT experience or equivalent professional experience with Programming/DBMS/No-SQL/Data Store experience

Preferred:

  • Possess Coding Skills: 2+_yrs of experience in API Design, Scala, Python, Database procedural languages and scripting (Java Script, Nod.JS and No-SQL)

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with AWS - With multiple AWS services beyond traditional IaaS. Familiarity with AWS Cloud products (Lambda, Aurora, RDS, Dynamo DB, EMR, DMS data migration, Glue, Quick Sight, Athena, Airflow, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, etc.)

  • Minimum of two (2) years of infrastructure and database automation/programming capability using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible and Python.

  • Experience in CI/CD tools (Chef, Ansible, or Puppet, Jenkins, GitHub, Git, Maven, Docker, Atom).

  • One (1+) year of demonstrated programming ability, skillset in designing and developing automation scripts (Python, Java-Script, Angular, Ruby, Ansible etc.)

  • AWS Cloud Strategy: Business Case development, application assessment, and migration planning, Cloud Operating Model design

  • AWS Security: Compliance, Cloud Security Architecture, third-party security tools/platforms, encryption/KMS/CloudHSM, IAM policies/roles etc. (Implement Encryption at rest)

  • Exposure to ETL tools such as Talend, DataStage, AWS Glue, DataSync, Apache Airflow

  • Possess an AWS Associate or Professional Certification

  • E xperience with: Node.js, PowerShell, Front-end developer skillset. J2EE, .NET Framework, AngularJS, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, Rust/React, Django, Web Services, XML, HTML, CSS

Base Pay Range: $121,600/yr. - $202,700/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
