Nuveen Investments Associate Director, CPACE Origination in Fairfax, Virginia
Nuveen Green Capital is a rapidly growing company with the goal of changing how our countryâs commercial real estate buildings produce and use energy. We finance commercial real estate new construction developments, substantial rehab projects, and retrofits of existing buildings with an innovative financing product called C-PACE (Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy). Nuveen Green Capital is the nationâs leading provider of C-PACE financing. C-PACE financing funds multi-million dollar energy, water, and resiliency measures within a commercial real estate projectâs construction budget and is paired with traditional construction, bridge, and permanent financing to complete a projectâs capital stack. C-PACE financing is attractively priced construction-to-permanent financing that is growing in popularity among real estate developers and property owners.
The Associate Director has primary responsibility for originating and overseeing the underwriting and closing of multi-million dollar C-PACE loans with traditional commercial real estate debt for multifamily, hotel, office, retail, and industrial properties. The Associate Director will be responsible for managing existing relationships and forming new relationships with borrowers, brokers, and industry partners within an assigned territory. The role reports to the Senior Director, Originations in the Washington, DC office.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Increase market awareness of Nuveen Green Capital.
Form relationships with commercial real estate professionals including commercial real estate developers, property owners, mortgage brokers, and professional services firms.
Drive pipeline generation of C-PACE loans and manage deals to a successful closing.Â
Partner with 1st trust mortgage lenders to provide a complete debt capital stack for potential projects.
Work closely with credit, legal, and state/ local C-PACE Program Administrators.
Work with mortgage holders (where applicable) to gain consent for C-PACE financing.
Work with the Originations team to refine current processes to be more efficient and scalable.Â

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of commercial real estate underwriting/ portfolio management and/ or loan originations experience

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively as well as independently in a team environmentÂ
Potential Salary: $106,050.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
