Financial Crimes Compliance Associate

This job supports TIAA's Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) program to ensure organizational functions are in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies and to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper business practices within the organization. This job works independently under general supervision, and is part of a function primarily responsible for reviewing client account activity and providing oversight to clients which present a higher Anti Money Laundering (AML) risk.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct thorough assessments of high-risk clients to ensure compliance with regulations and detect potential illicit activities.

  • Perform comprehensive research and analysis on customer profiles, including business operations, ownership structures, and financial transactions.

  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for risk mitigation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to share information and ensure alignment on suspicious activity and customer risk profile.

  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to maintain compliance and enhance knowledge.

  • Perform QC/QA reviews on high-risk clients, Politically Exposed Persons, individuals/entities associated with high-risk countries, etc.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned, which may include special projects, testing, and/or training, as directed by leadership.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of financial crimes experience (AML, Fraud)

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of financial crimes experience (AML, Fraud)

  • Prior BSA/AML compliance experience and/or banking experience

  • Knowledge of applicable BSA, OFAC, FinCEN, and AML regulations

  • Knowledge of general banking operations, policies, and procedures

  • Competency in using Excel, Word, and Actimize

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

  • Solid communication skills both written and verbal

  • Solid Analytical skills with the ability to identify anomalies

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills

Anticipated Posting End Date:

2024-10-12

Base Pay Range: $29.30/hr. - $35.54/hr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
