TIAA Lead Developer in Iselin, New Jersey
This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.
This role will sit onsite, likely in a hybrid capacity, at the location(s) listed in this posting.
The anticipated term of this engagement will be 12 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.
CW-IT Applications Developer IV
Develops, implements and assesses specific new and emerging technologies, platforms, and services.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Assessing the technical viability of emerging products and technologies.
Working with developers and infrastructure specialists to test and evaluate new technologies.
Participating in the development of business cases and obtaining approvals for capital expenditures.
Monitoring and analyzing new technology product performance and resolving issues regarding potential improvements or modifications to complex situations, as needed.

Lead Automation Developer
TIAA has an opportunity for a Lead Automation Developer to support their Charlotte, NC or Iselin, NJ office. This is a Hybrid role based either in Charlotte or Iselin Office.
This position will be a member of the Enterprise Release Automation Team within the Global Infrastructure Services organization.
This role will be primarily responsible for providing leadership in the end-to-end design, engineering, development, and delivery of technology-enabled automation and services. In addition, this position will be accountable for meeting deliverable schedules, delivering high-quality solutions that meet technical specifications; design requirements, and contributing to and leading the specification and software design phases of the software development life cycle.
The ideal candidate is comfortable with both software development and IT operations. Furthermore, they have a passion for problem-solving, collaboration with others, work well under pressure, and can clearly articulate their thoughts both in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities:
Create architecture diagram and design flow diagram
Develop tools to improve software development, deployment, and monitoring of applications
Participate in the rolling out of new applications and product features
Manage day-to-day technical challenges and communicate to the manager any risks or issues associated with the development activities
Assist manager with the estimation of technical timelines and allocation of technical resources to a specific task
Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitate Code Reviews.
Identify opportunities for system reuse and system simplification.
Communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities to team members and hold them accountable to meet the expectations
Collaborate with IT stakeholders to devise a capacity plan and ensure appropriate infrastructure for the end-to-end system delivery
Respond to customer requests within the defined SLA
Use logic and reasoning skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Maintain the up-time on the tools – 99.9%
Qualifications:
Required:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
Eight (8) years of experience working in an IT environment.
Strong proficiency in writing robust software for large-scale web applications in a dynamic environment with rapid release cycles
Five (5) years of hands-on experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, and Groovy
Experience with JAVA ecosystem tools such as Struts or Spring or Maven or Gradle or Ant or Junit or Spock or Hibernate, etc.
Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB & Aurora database
Experience working with Linux OS, Windows OS, AIX, Solaris
Experience in the deployment of automation and continuous delivery pipeline tool
Preferred:
M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
Minimum of 2 years experience working with at least one primary cloud provider (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Platform)
Prior working experience in the financial services industry
A highly motivated, innovative, and self-directed thinker
Eagerness to stay up to date with current trends and a desire for continuous learning.
Familiar with web technologies (i.e., Angular, HTML, CSS, JS, and JQuery)
Proficient with scripting languages such as Perl, JavaScript, VBScript
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience working in an operations environment
Production-level experience developing Terraform or Cloud formation templates
Technical knowledge on Containers and Container orchestration, such as Kubernetes

Base Pay Range: $74.17/hr. - $80.38/hr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
