CAO & Head of Bus Enablement, Retirement Solutions

The Retirement Solutions Chief Administrative Officer and Head of Business Enablement role is responsible for strategy, program execution, change management, and business management for the Retirement Solutions organization. Retirement Solutions brings a broad range of solutions provided by TIAA and Nuveen to help drive better outcomes, deepen relationships, and meet the holistic financial needs and goals of our clients and their employees.

This role will partner with the Retirement Solutions leadership team and the extended team of Retirement Solutions partners to coordinate strategy, planning, execution, continuous improvement, expense management, and management routines for the Retirement Solutions organization. This leader is accountable for leading the strategic evolution of the Retirement Solutions integrated business strategy and operating model and will drive integration of business strategies across the division and represent RS on critical enterprise solutions for our clients. This role leads a team of direct reports with their own spans of control, inclusive of the centralized Chief of Staff model supporting the Retirement Solutions senior leadership team.

To achieve these outcomes, this role requires strong collaboration with key partners across TIAA businesses as well as corporate partners such as Technology, Digital and Client Experience, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, HR, Marketing, and Corporate Strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leads and orchestrates consistent business management execution across RS and with partners.

  • Leads large-scale, strategic initiatives to deepen business integration and optimize resources to best serve our clients.

  • Drives business strategy development by assessing risks, noting opportunities, and proposing projects or systems that move the business forward.

  • Partners with the Marketing and Analytics teams to deliver advanced analytics and business insights to drive lead management, better decision making, client/prospect targeting and engagement strategies.

  • Partners with Finance to provide oversight in driving flows/revenue, defining budgets and monitoring the cost and effectiveness of operational activities to prioritize spending, and managing workforce planning and resource allocation.

  • Collaborates with key partners across TIAA businesses as well as corporate partners such as Technology, Digital and Client Experience, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, HR, Marketing, and Corporate Strategy to execute on enterprise programs.

  • Leads the business performance, analytics, and scorecard team. Oversees the development of scorecards for client-facing associates and provide tools and dashboards to enable real-time tracking of performance.

  • Oversees the portfolio of technology investment, business requirements, and process re-engineering initiatives.

  • Helps to prioritize and manage the flow of information to the Retirement Solutions organization.

  • Leads division wide business strategy development and integration of strategies across the business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-client (B2C) markets, providing oversight of execution plans to ensure continued alignment to business strategies and priorities.

  • Drives focus on industry and market trends to bring differentiated solutions to institutional and individual clients, collaborating across the enterprise to deliver on these solutions.

Base Pay Range: $213,800/yr. - $353,600/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
