Nuveen Investments Sr Lead Application Developer in Iselin, New Jersey

Nuveen, a subsidiary of TIAA, is looking for a senior technical resource to join Middle Office Technology team. The position will be responsible for design and development of solutions supporting Middle Office Technology functions at Nuveen. Candidate will be an active partner in working with the IT Leadership and Business Unit Leaders to develop strategic roadmaps, develop effective change initiatives, and successfully delivering the plans and deliverables to meet their business objectives. To achieve this, the candidate must demonstrate understanding of investment data management processes and technology and successfully collaborate with other team members to foster a strong working relationship with our business partners.Â

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Architecting, designing and delivering small, mid-sized and large projects.

  • Provide innovative solutions to business and IT challenges, evaluate and recommend new technology products and tools, recommending improvements to technology framework, identify risks in existing technology solutions and recommend solutions to mitigate the risk.

  • Help drive IT performance to higher levels to improve business user satisfaction.

  • Actively participate in special IT and corporate projects as needed, such as business continuity drills, corporate strategy support, Sarbanes-Oxley or SEC audits.

  • Drive creation and adoption of improved team tools and processes.Â

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience Architecting, designing and delivering small, mid-sized and large projects

  • Experience working with technology-governance frameworks, and applications used in financial services

  • 5+ years of experience with Eagle Investment System modules (Eagle SRC, Reference Data Center, Performance, Security Reference Manager), Eagle tools (OLAP, IWS, Eagle ML, message streams, web panels, uploaders, exporters).

  • 5+ years experience within the Investment Management industry operations, investing strategies, distribution channels and business control and support functions

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ Experience with scheduling, monitoring and file transfer tools Autosys, Splunk, and Sterling Integrator and Connect Direct

  • Experience with data management products and tools, relational database systems, metadata management products and tools, ETL tools like Data Stage, Reporting tools like OBIEE and Tableau

  • Familiarity with Big Data architecture, Data Lake architecture

  • Broad knowledge of IT processes, including experience in managing throughout the SDLC

Potential Salary: $188,000.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
