TIAA Sr. Manager - Monitoring & Observability COE in Iselin, New Jersey

TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Monitoring & Observability COE. This role will define and implement our Enterprise Monitoring strategy for Multi-Cloud Monitoring and Observability. This will include the collection, delivery, analysis, and visualization of Key Monitoring Telemetry data around metrics, logs, and traces.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of multi-cloud platforms, possess a deep understanding of ITIL processes with a focus on multi-cloud observability and possess a deep understanding of AWS monitoring solutions and integration with external tools. This position can be located at one of our major hub offices (i.e., NYC, Iselin, NJ, Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, Frisco, TX, Broomfield, CO or Denver, CO).

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Help define and implement our Enterprise Monitoring strategy for Multi-Cloud Monitoring and Observability. This includes the collection, delivery, analysis, and visualization of Key monitoring telemetry data around metrics, logs, and traces.

  • Assist in building Service Management Process for monitoring platforms covering day-to-day operations, incidents, change, SLA management and Capacity Management.

  • Develop onboarding and integration process and assist in User adoption of monitoring and observability capabilities.

  • Provide support to Internal processes related to audit, Compliance, and Risk for monitoring and observability platforms and services.

  • Help define monitoring standards, procedures and manage stakeholder engagement, metrics reporting and monitoring standards governance function.

  • Support Cyber SIEM Splunk platform and assist in onboarding new data sources required for cyber threat detection.

  • Directly collaborate with End Users, Command Center, Production Support teams and all product stakeholders to understand business requirements, help drive alignment, and build thoughtful solutions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in the field of Information Technology; demonstrated capabilities in IT systems development, administration, technical troubleshooting, solving complex problems and experience providing technical leadership across a broad range of technologies. Ability to assess complex systems, business processes and define requirements for solutions. Possess an understanding of ITIL, with an emphasis on event management and incident management.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Moogsoft, Splunk, APM Solutions (i.e., DynaTrace/signalFx/Datadog), ServiceNow, CMDB, Robotic Process automation tools, BigFix, Ansible.

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience leading high-performing monitoring and automation teams.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of multi-cloud platforms

  • Knowledge of AWS monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Xray and Azure analytics.

  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix global organization, aligning local IT leadership with the global IT functions.

  • Ability to focus on delivering business value and translate potential technical solutions into realistic business cases and successful projects.

  • Ability to interface and communicate with all levels of stakeholders both internally and externally.

  • Ability to effectively manage changes both within IT and across the organization.

  • Ability to coordinate the work and activities of others; ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and organize work.

  • Possess project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task activities within a high volume and fast-paced environment.

  • High level understanding GCP, Azure and Redhat OpenShift IaaS offering and their native services.

Base Pay Range: $138,700/yr. - $231,100/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
