Fraud Operations Manager

The Fraud Operations Manager leads a team of associates who participate in the intake, triage, risk and exposure analysis, detection, investigation, and control activities to mitigate the threat of external customer fraud. The Fraud Operations Manager may also directly participate in the review and disposition of activity in question. Activity may include but is not limited to access and authentication through various channels such as web and mobile applications, phone, and paper. Financial transaction activity is also a key point of risk coverage provided by the team and Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages a team of employees that triage, analyze, detect, and/or investigate alerts of potential external customer fraud, high risk transactions, alleged fraud claims, suspicious and unusual activity.

  • Ensures adherence to standard procedure and quality control processes.

  • Ensures adherence to Regulatory, Organizational, and Team SLA’s.

  • Implements and/or assists in developing action plans for detecting and responding to fraudulent activities against the organization.

  • Partners with key fraud stakeholders and business partners through project involvement, important topic presentations, and operational oversight.

  • Ensures the Fraud Detection SOP and Fraud Response SOP are appropriately documented and are compliant with Regulatory requirements meeting or exceed Industry best practices.

  • Escalates potential and confirmed fraudulent situations (as deem appropriate) to protect the company’s financial and operational situation.

  • Develops trending reports and key indicators used to serve as early warning of high risk and potentially fraudulent activity.

  • Continually monitors team operational performance through scorecards as well as associate 1:1’s to drive peak performance and consistency from all associates.

Base Pay Range: $90,200/yr. - $150,400/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
