TIAA Bank Lead Data Analytics Manager in Islandia, New York
The Lead Data Analytics Manager leads a team that performs complex analytics and statistical modeling on large data sets that identify current market sector trends and customer patterns. This job directs the examination and identification of data patterns and trends that help answer business questions and improve decision-making. This job is responsible for overseeing the work completed by junior team members as well as encouraging and driving their professional development.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Approves mathematical, statistical, and economic techniques that determine market conditions, project consumer needs and inform business initiatives.
Analyzes and reviews trends found from modelling to inform other lines of business such as product development and marketing decisions.
Oversees data mining models, statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies to identify key customer segments and to simulate impact of potential business decisions.
Develops and presents detailed reports and conclusions for business, finance, and investment management based on data summaries.
Identifies areas of opportunity and risk through data analysis and modelling.
Sets goals and objectives for Data Analytics team members to ensure the achievement of operational results.
Supervises junior team members and ensures smooth and efficient team operations while validating reports and data integrity.
Manages, coaches, directs, assesses performance, and coordinates with direct reports to facilitate execution of the business’s stated Actuarial strategies and objectives.
- University (Degree) Preferred
- 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work
Extensive Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) responsibilities using applicable software, such as Structured Query Language (SQL), Excel and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Experience with exploratory data analysis and dashboard creation using Tableau and Tableau Server
Experience in data quality controls and detecting errors in the data
5 years of experience in the financial services industry
Experience dealing with ambiguity and defining a path forward, including prioritizing, and overseeing multiple deliverables with attention to detail
Potential Salary: $142,800.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
