Business Banking Sales Specialist

The Business Banking Sales Specialist is responsible for making sales and service recommendations to Business Banking clients and prospects. Working under limited supervision, this job is responsible for inbound and outbound calls. Opportunities originate from internal transfers, referrals, leads generated from the website and marketing driven campaigns to generate high quality new deposit business in order to achieve or exceed specific production goals.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Works sales phone queues educating callers about Business Banking’s products and services with the ability to make outbound calls and be comfortable speaking with controllers, finance executives and business owners.

  • Utilizes knowledge of products and services to identify and refer cross sell opportunities to Business Service Teams to transition from transaction based to relationship-based support.

  • Works internal referral sources for new business deposit account generation.

  • Responsible for the education, sale and account opening of all Business Banking deposit accounts on a national basis to prospects and existing clients.

  • Understands how businesses operate, discovering their cashflow needs and makes product and service recommendations for various business entity types and industry segments.

  • Assists clients with deposit applications questions, CD maturity instructions, managing authorized signer updates, product change requests, and closing accounts with an emphasis on saving relationships, while building and maintaining positive relationships with prospects and clients.

  • Assists in the process of documenting and finalizing new and existing deposit proposals.

  • Documents and resolves complaints from clients pertaining to account opening and ongoing banking services and provides follow-up calls when necessary.

  • Ensures clients are up to date and aware of product enhancements and new releases and can identify possible cross-sales opportunities within assigned client base.

  • Communicates with clients/prospects and Business Operations partners to ensure a positive outcome from start to finish in the account opening process.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensures all compliance & bank training related activities are successfully completed on time.

Educational Requirements

  • High School Preferred

  • Quarterly incentives available in addition to base salary.

Preferred:

  • 2 plus consecutive years experience within an established financial institution strongly preferred.

  • Experience educating bank clients via phone desired.

Base Pay Range: $22.73/hr. - $37.88/hr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
