TIAA Mortgage Loan Trainee in JACKSONVILLE, Florida

JOB SUMMARY

The Mortgage Loan Trainee position is responsible for providing behind the scenes assistance to the sales, processing, and closing departments. Daily tasks will include loan coordination, customer service, and follow through with all facets of the loan process. Collecting loan documentation, verifying loan documentation, maintaining customer relationships, and preparing a loan closing package in a timely manner are all responsibilities for this job function. The goal for this position is to move into a sales or operations role within three months to one year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist thesales team with all tasks related to loan production, to include loanapplication and origination, pricing, coordination with operations teamsand follow up with customers

  • Review andprocess incoming loan applications and provide Loan Officer with feedbackon loan application

  • Handlecorrespondence for loan officers and provide backup service to customersin their absence

  • Assist salesteam with reports and statistics to help maximize selling opportunities andclosed loans

  • Learn variousborrowing programs and processes and stay current with changes and newproducts

  • Learn andutilize various in-house technical systems and programs to provide optimalsupport to sales team

  • Reviewinformation obtained from loan officers for accuracy and completeness

  • Obtainadditional credit documentation needed from all sources

  • Obtainapproval and closing conditions

  • Verifyappraisal, credit and title have been ordered for all files withinpipeline

  • Follow up withall third party vendors (appraisals, credit and title) to ensure deliveryof required reports

  • Assist incollecting the documentation required for submitting files to Underwriting

  • Responsiblefor communicating underwriting conditions to both the borrowers as well asthe Loan Officer

  • Assure thatall underwriting conditions are met prior to sending out closing packages

  • Prepare andreview closing packages and funding checks with accuracy

  • Be a liaisonbetween settlement agent and the Loan Officer

  • Adhere to allfederal and state compliance guidelines relative to the position

  • Must be eagerto learn and develop mortgage knowledge in every area of the business

  • Must be aself-starter and self-motivated to meet job expectations and goals

  • Must be ableto thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment

  • Ability tomanage multiple deadlines

  • Strongorganizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to useMS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Windows, MS-Outlook, and the internet effectively

  • Goodcommunication and customer service skills

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent

  • One(1) year of sales and/or client facing experience or a Bachelor’sdegree

  • Mustbe S.A.F.E. Act registered through NMLS or become S.A.F.E. Act registeredthrough NMLS upon hire

  • Bachelor’sdegree

  • Mortgageindustry experience
