Sr Systems Admin - TIAA Bank

The Sr Systems Admin role designs information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's operating systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.

  • Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

  • Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.

  • Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.

  • Collaborates with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.

  • Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.

  • Educates end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training materials and conducting demos.

  • Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 3 or more years of experience in IT Windows and Linux server application support

  • Experience with Troubleshooting, systemic issues, documenting issues and working problems to resolution

  • Experience with cyber security applications and systems to ensure efficient functioning

  • Responsible for cyber security application vulnerability management

  • Responsible for responding to system administration requests

  • Responsible for documenting cyber security application recovery procedures

  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities

  • Must display initiative, ability to work independently

  • Ability to react quickly to a fast paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Observations and recommendations to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards

Preferred Skills :

  • Windows server, Linux RHEL server operating systems in a VMWare virtual and physical operating environment

  • Knowledge of Information Technology field and computer systems

  • Logical, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge in any of the following software applications: Checkpoint Endpoint Security/Encryption, Cofense E-Mail Phising tool, Crowdstrike Falcon host, CyberArk Password management system, DarkTrace AI traffic monitoring, Firemon firewall monitoring, Forcepoint e-mail data loss protection, F5 ASM, Imperva Database Monitoring, Opentext Encase Examiner, Quest One Identity Password Manager, Rapid 7 Nexpose Insight Manager Vulnerability scanning tool, Observe IT, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Endpoint data loss protection, Tenable database vulnerability scanner, Tripwire, Veracode – Code vulnerability scanning tool, Z-Scaler Internet Content filtering

Base Pay Range: $82,200/yr. - $137,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
