Sr Tax Accountant
Provides consulting and information-sharing tax services for the organization and ensures that all appropriate tax regulations are followed. Assist in all corporate income tax reporting, policy, and research for TIAA Bank and its affiliates. Assist with tax strategies, tax reporting, and implementation of tax policy in accordance with GAAP and tax law.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Assist in preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated tax provision and tax footnote disclosure in accordance with ASC 740
Assist in analysis and review of federal and state income tax exposure in accordance with FIN 48
Assist the AVP and VP of Corporate Tax in reviewing and analyzing tax implications related to special projects
Assist in researching technical tax issues as well as changes in federal/state tax statutes, regulations, court cases, and new/pending legislation related to nexus and apportionment
Maintain good working relationships with outside tax service providers
Prepare/review federal, state, and local income tax returns as needed
Prepare/review quarterly estimated tax payments (federal, state, and local)
Prepare/review federal, state, and local income tax return extensions
Assist in the coordination and resolution of corporate income tax audits by federal and state authorities
Respond to notices received from federal and state authorities
- University (Degree) Preferred
- 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred
- Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work
- 3+ years of tax accounting experience or tax compliance experience
5+ years of tax accounting experience or tax compliance experience
Previous experience working in public accounting
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
MBA (Masters of Business Administration) or MAcc (Master of Accountancy)
Potential Salary: $95,000.00 USD
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.Â In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
