TIAA Sr Technical Lead - Cloud and Search in Jacksonville, Florida

The Senior Technical Lead is responsible for leading analysis, programming, and configuration of end user applications or systems software including both systems analysis and programming or configuration of packaged products created by third parties. While managing a department or small unit within the IT department, this job recommends operational strategies and plans that have direct impact on results. This role also influences business decisions made by leadership.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops strategy and road map for delivering innovation and automation while analyzing detailed business requirements and specifications for the application.

  • Configures internally developed applications and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.

  • Plans application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.

  • Maintains relationships with clients while communicating with IT and business management and monitors prompt response and support for technical issues.

  • Receives activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections

  • Leads process improvements, cost reduction efforts, tool development to improve the software development and support process in a way that reduces complexity, improves service, and reduces cost.

  • Manages direct reports that are responsible for the end to end design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services.

  • Ensures that team members are meeting development schedules and delivering high quality solutions that meet technical specifications and design requirements.

  • Manages performance of direct reports through regular, timely feedback and the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

  • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred

Required Skills:

  • 8 or more years experience with Cloud Technologies, preferably AWS/GCP, as well as Web Search.

  • Experience of Web Search capabilities, search analytics and data management.

  • Experience planning, integrating and deploying solutions through the full SDLC.

  • Operational experience in understanding, deploying and managing search at scale.

  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, Unix/Linux, Putty, running command line arguments.

  • Experience with Containerized solutions, managing & deploying apps on containers.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Apache Solr, Fusion and NoSQL systems.

  • Knowledge on promoting search results, facet searches, boost queries.

  • Experience with data and analytics, extracting insights and actionable outcomes

Base Pay Range: $130,600/yr. - $217,700/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
