POSITION SUMMARY:
TIAA is seeking a Sr. Systems Analyst to join their Production Support team in either their Charlotte, NC, Kansas City, MO, Iselin, NJ, Denver, CO or Broomfield, CO office. This position will analyze, design, develop and document computer information systems for the institutional retirement application portfolio.
The selected candidate will be responsible to scale-up quickly and join an existing production support team that supports critical applications. This role will work independently as well as interface with multiple external teams in day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess good communication skills, ability to work with multiple teams simultaneously.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Perform successful root cause analyses forproblem resolution in a UNIX environment
Provide timely diagnostics, recommendations andresolution on production issues
Transition new institutional clients to theproduction support team and when they are on-boarded as new institutionalclients, adopt TIAA new institutional retirement applications
Provide support to critical development, testand software vendor(s) on issues that require diagnostics, configuration ordata changes and/or code fixes
Interface with other downstream applicationsand business operation teams on issues and problems to manage businessworkflows
Identify areas of improvement in processingfiles, implementing automation and monitoring and inspection of outputs andresulting data and client correspondence
Support software release testing and provideproduction support sign-off for new versions
Assist with supervising contingent workers andtheir daily tasks including onshore and offshore staff
Handle flat files, compare and make revisionsto them
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Prior experience as a Business Analyst, SystemsEngineer or equivalent
Three (3) years programming experience withJava/J2EE
Experience working with Oracle
Experience working with UNIX Operating Systems
Experience with Operating Systems life cyclemanagement and configuration management
Preferred:
One (1) year experience with SPLUNK and/orsimilar logging and monitoring tools
Experience using tools such as FileZilla, SQLDeveloper, Mongo Chef Core, and Putty
One (1) year experience working in an ApplicationProduction Support environment
Experience with Web Services
Experience working in a virtual teamenvironment
Experience with SQL optimization
Experience with business acumen to understandproduct offerings
Ability to understand complex data models andwrite complex SQLs
Ability to communicate both in writing andverbally to all levels of business stakeholders
Previous experience working in FinancialServices and/or Retirement industry
