Overview of the Role

The primary responsibility of the Institutional Sales Management role is new client development and retention within the UK Institutional marketplace. The focus is direct sales to the UK pensions segment with responsibility for representing all Nuveen capabilities (public and private fixed income, public and private equity, real estate, and real assets).

The role would offer an opportunity to work with the biggest institutional investors in the region across the broadest possible set of investment products. The successful candidate would be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the firm’s institutional clients across the UK, reporting to the Head of UK Pensions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive new revenue and new mandate generation across products and pension client types.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships at a senior level with CIOs and portfolio managers to identify and diligently pursue new potential business, and retain existing business.

  • Understands key competitors and positions the firm's products effectively relative to those competitors.

  • Work collaboratively with partners within Nuveen to drive new business opportunities and solve complex client issues and challenges.

  • Proactively cross-sells the firm's products to existing clients where appropriate.

  • Exceeds client service expectations through proactive on-going communication.

Technical Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Significant experience within financial services, particularly asset management

  • Demonstrable track record within institutional sales, specifically Pensions, with relevant experience in alternatives and traditional asset classes

  • Established network of key decision makers across UK pension segments (e.g LGPS, DB, OCIO and DC)

  • Track record of building strong working partnerships and effectively managing client expectations.

  • Solid product and investment knowledge

  • Self-motivated individual, with the ability to take ownership to ensure outcomes are achieved

This role requires Certified Staff - UK regulatory designation.
