The UK Investment Operations team supports a variety of activities with the primary areas of focus being trade settlements, trade matching/confirmation, regulatory reporting and broker relations for the Nuveen Equity & Fixed Income (NEFI) business. The successful candidate will be a hard working, energetic and contributing member of a highly driven group of professionals focused on settling international fixed income trades and all additional intricacies that are involved with market set-up and post-execution services. The team manages local market investments in over 60 EMEA & Developed countries for all of TIAA Investment’s & Nuveen Asset Management’s Public Fixed Income & Multi-Asset portfolios.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Support Fixed Income, FX, Equity and Derivatives, trade matching, confirmation and settlements

• Support regulatory reporting (MiFIR) for all reportable instruments

• Work directly with various global custodians, brokers, and internal teams to facilitate any settlement issues

• Coordinate data set-up for new markets

• Coordinate and liaise with global custodians and legal/compliance on local market renewals and corporate events

• Work directly with IT and vendors to resolve any technical issues

• Continuous improvement mindset to capitalize on straight through processing, speed and accuracy of systems and procedures; communicate in functional teams to complete daily tasks, share market and systems knowledge, and preserve and grow strong trading relationships with internal/external customers

• Monitor SLAs & maintain SOPs

• Contribute to overall success of the NEFI International Expansion

Technical Skills & Experience Required

• One to three years of relevant Investment Management experience required

• Solid understanding of the lifecycle of a trade from execution to settlement

• Solid understanding of various Investment Management products (Pension funds, Mutual funds, Bespoke accts)

• Solid understanding of SWIFT messaging and format

• Experience sending trades to an Approved Reporting Mechanism desirable

• Experience with Omgeo products (ALERT, CTM) desirable

• Experience with Bloomberg AIM or Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRD) (CRIMS) desirable

• Experience with BBH Infomediary desirable

• Effective communication skills to facilitate deadlines.

• Ability to address difficult issues and work under pressures in high stress environments

• Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to understand complex workflows

• Excel skills including macros, vlookups, pivot tables and other advanced skills desirable

• Solid understanding of operational risks and controls

Competencies Required

• Effective communication with all stakeholders, including but not limited to Portfolio Managers, Traders, Global Custodians and Brokers

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to understand complex workflows

• Good understanding of operational risks and controls

• Team player, detail oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize effectively

• Self-starter with a high level of energy

• Act in line with Nuveen’s Values
