Quality Analyst II

Provides technical and consulting support for quality improvement or compliance programs in any area of the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Functions

  • Interpreting and disseminating quality and compliance requirements for company's systems and procedures.

  • Leading organizational internal audit, investigating compliance issues, and providing solutions on quality and compliance issues.

  • Creating smooth cross departmental communication channels about quality and compliance issues and solutions.

  • Monitoring and reviewing regulations and policies to update compliance requirement, and adjust organizational procedures to assure compliance.

  • Audit and Compliance Function: Contributes to the establishment of best practices for A&C. Implements specific organizational changes made in response to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Contributes to development of A&C strategies and plans. Facilitates compliance-related business process implementation or improvement initiatives. Manages one or more A&C functions or units. Improves key relationships and dependencies among Audit, IT and other business functions.

  • Auditing: Compares and contrasts alternative audit strategies or approaches for diverse situations. Ensures compliance with current government and industry audit practices and requirements. Facilitates preparation for and execution of external audits. Works with a variety of audit methods, tools and techniques. Designs, develops and implements compliance testing criteria and tools. Develops and presents reports on audit findings and recommendations.

  • Internal Controls: Implements and enhances internal controls in multiple and diverse environments. Establishes corrective actions for use in cases of financial irregularities or dishonesty. Designs and publishes forms used for internal control documentation. Re-engineers business processes for the sake of improving internal controls. Trains others in processes required for compliance with new internal controls. Advises external auditors on the specifics of the organization's internal controls.

  • Insurance Legal and Regulatory Environment: Directs the implementation and application of state regulations on a product line. Consults on compliance and authorization requirements in the product design phase. Creates internal processes and procedures to implement organizational legal compliance programs. Evaluates the company's experiences and practices; determines how these fit in with any associated legal ramifications. Analyzes various costs and considerations of monitoring and adhering to legal requirements. Advises on regulatory and management reporting requirements from a legal aspect.

  • Insurance Fraud Management: Consults on investigating complex cases, including measurement, data collection and method application. Evaluates any weakness in the implementation of fraud deterrence and provides improvement schemes. Builds a systematic assessment center to evaluate claim examiners' qualifications. Collaborates with claim divisions on potential fraud upload to share risks in a timely manner. Designs a classification model for fraudulent issues and the corresponding processing steps. Monitors investigation approaches for claim settlement, from data collection to final payment.

  • Knowledge of Insurance Operations: Trains others on providing operational support to various functions of the insurance business. Participates in multiple phases of the insurance support process, using a broader understanding of operations. Interprets interdependencies among various insurance support processes and procedures. Coaches others on the tools, methods, systems and processes used in the insurance business. Monitors the major market and legal issues in multiple jurisdictions related to insurance. Anticipates the major needs and expectations of customers in the insurance company.

  • Insurance Products: Monitors regulatory requirements to ensure the product's legal compliance within the organization. Oversees the operations of an insurance product and product groups. Advises others on the impact of the economic environment on the company's products or product groups. Directs the customization of standard insurance products for large or unusual risks. Designs and develops insurance product related processes and procedures based on established strategies. Consults on multiple products or service groups and their interdependencies.
