Corporate Strategy & Development
The Corporate Strategy & Development job works with senior business leaders to create a comprehensive corporate development strategy, assessing, prioritizing, and establishing an approach for pursuing inorganic growth, including M&A, partnerships, and investments and leading the execution of transactions. This job manages large projects with minimal oversight from management, and is responsible for identifying and analyzing organization strengths and weaknesses, monitoring industry trends and developing and reviewing all strategic and financial business plans to advise management and optimize business strategies.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Leads the development of inorganic growth and divestment plans for the business by evaluating and financial modeling potential merger, acquisition, divestment, partnership and joint venture opportunities.
Leads the execution of mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, partnerships and related activities across the entire deal lifecycle including: pre-deal analysis, due diligence, ownership of the deal model, the development of integration project plans, deal negotiation and post-deal implementation.
Performs complex qualitative and quantitative research for Strategy and Planning engagements using advanced research knowledge and techniques.
Interacts frequently with the Executive Committee and Board as part of the development of the plan and evaluation of opportunities, as well as serves as a primary external interface for the organization during deal sourcing, including maintaining the firm’s investment banking relationships and making outreach to targets, as well as deal negotiations.
Works with senior executives and the Board to define the criteria for strategic transactions as well as the process by which they are evaluated and to proactively identify targets that address the firm’s current strategic needs.
Identifies growth opportunities, business model innovation, and facilitating cross-business unit initiatives.
Monitors medium to long-term business trends/outlooks, gathering competitive intelligence to contribute to strategic business planning discussions with leadership.
Coaches junior analysts regarding Business Development Strategy issues that require more advanced knowledge and experience.
