The Portfolio Analyst works with portfolio managers and regional directors, including: Monitoring portfolio performance; conducting statistical analyses, assembling and reviewing data, monitoring cash flows, maintaining target allocations and completing ad hoc and recurring analyses. The Portfolio analyst assesses and reconciles results that are inconsistent with strategy and objectives. They serve as a Portfolio Managers primary point of contact with investment operations, compliance, client service and business analyst; theydevelop & lead practice management routines to promote efficient and effective practices and support the teams in overall book management strategy.
Createasset allocation studies utilizing data collected in the client profilingprocess; verify/test assumptions and constraints; confirm findings throughiterative ratification process with the PM.
Ensureknowledge of entire investment solution suite; recommend investment solutionsto PM for client use based upon clients' needs and constraints.
Monitor/facilitateaccount set up resulting in error free account set up process; ensure timelyaccount set up and investment of funds.
Re-balanceportfolio due to liquidity needs, bond maturities, excess cash, buy/sellimplementation, tax loss harvesting, and investment recommendationimplementation - deployment of cash liquidation of positions.
Handletrade order entry for portfolio transactions, and administration of custodyaccount trades and performance.
Reg.9 meeting preparation, review exceptions and recommend strategy to resolveexceptions.
Preparemeeting materials; generate research materials - proprietary, economiccommentary and Bloomberg etc. as needed for client and prospect meetings.
Respondto client requests when PMs are out of office.
Teamwith Portfolio Management Assistant(s) to ensure consistent support for the PM
Utilizes knowledge of financial planning andinvestment management concepts including broad knowledge of TIAA's products andservices to assemble and review document account materials related to theclient experience and or management of the portfolio.
Proactively analyzes accountsto identify issues and takes action to correct or may direct others to doso. Executes trades in client accountsas needed in a manner that is consistent with organizational guidelines
1+ years ofprivate asset management experience
2+ years utilizing MicrosoftOffice suite
Desired Qualifications :
Understanding of investment fundamentals CFA, CFP or can be obtained utilizing ourProfessional Designation Program
Experience working in afinancial sales/service capacity for a book of high net worth clients.
Computerskills that include working knowledge with Microsoft Office suite, CRM, andproprietary systems. Excellent financial, mathematical and statisticalskills; can work with complex database and/or quantitative tools.
Ability to apply and communicate knowledge ofinvestment fundamentals, product knowledge, procedures of the organization aswell as regulatory requirements in the course of managing both client accountsand relationships.
Analyzeinformation and consistently and generateworkable solutions to problems
Ability to workdirectly with clients and to work with clients and internal business partnersof all magnitude in both written and verbal format
