Nuveen Investments Associate Director, Capital Markets in New York, New York
Associate Dir, Capital Markets
The Associate Director, Capital Markets will lead all aspects of financial modeling and risk modeling for the Capital Markets team. The Associate Director will report directly to the Head of Capital Markets for Nuveen Green Capital and will be a crucial contributor to the company's capital and product strategy.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Optimize existing capital structures and pioneer new investment products backed by CPACE through advanced quantitative and risk modeling.
Build and maintain cash flow models in Excel used in the pricing, structuring, and portfolio management of debt and equity investments backed by CPACE.
Model and monitor risk retention requirements for asset backed securities (144a and 4a2 securitizations).
Model rating agency methodologies and stresses; work with the rating agencies to achieve efficient deal structures to pass agency stresses at each tranche’s desired rating level.
Analyze pools of cash flows to create and recommend optimal structures through various financing vehicles.
Model potential risk events as part of the company’s risk management framework and assist with ongoing surveillance of existing portfolio holdings as needed.
Collaborate across various departments, including Finance, Asset Management, Legal, Credit, and Originations.
Articulate complex analytic and strategic issues to audiences of different skill and knowledge levels, both internally and externally.
Monitor market conditions and trends to identify potential impacts on the company’s portfolio and products in the market.
Take an active role in developing and educating more junior members of the Capital Markets team.

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience modeling structured products (ABS, CMBS, MBS, CLOs) at an investment bank, hedge fund, private credit fund, or rating agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience modeling structured products (ABS, CMBS, MBS, CLOs) at an investment bank, hedge fund, private credit fund, or rating agency.
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
Deep understanding of structured products, credit analysis, and rating agency methodologies.
Proven problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex information, identify key issues, and drive resolutions.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with modeling DBRS cash flow stresses for ABS products.
Strong network of existing bank relationships.
Proficiency in Intex and Bloomberg.
Series 63 license.

Base Pay Range: $123,200/yr. - $163,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
